Please Stop Turning Non-Debate Threads Into Debates

Please,.. it's really getting on my nerves. So yesterday I posted a song (that I will go ahead and post below) that I really liked in the entertainment forum and with the exception of maybe one or two little things in it there was nothing I really found too bad in it except that it had a really good beat and there was just a lot booty shaking to it. That's when people started having a freaking cow!!!





Newsflash, one of the reasons I love this forum so much is that unlike a lot of other Christian forums that I've been a part of,.. here I feel like I have the freedom to express myself and when I want advice and when I want to debate I start a thread about it but there's absolutely no point in debating the kind of music that I like when there's nothing to debate and it's not going to change and nobody is going to change my mind.






So yeah,.. please stop and if somebody wants to debate secular music just go ahead and start a thread about it and I might go ahead and add my thoughts and opinions to it,.. I just don't want to start one myself because I just don't see any point. For the rest of you who just want to listen to some good foot stomping music, here's my current favorite song with two of my favorite artists Pitbull and Blake Shelton!!!

If you want some clarity on your headers subject matter, I would consider the issue of the need to control the narrative.
....and just in case this offends you, looking at why it does, without denial, is helpful.

There is no such rule, its a discussion forum. With the only exception being the prayer forum where we dont want discussion but we want prayers.

You could use the blog, it's not as interactive.

Why not it's a bathing suit! Honestly! I mean although it's true that the media puts way too much pressure on having the perfect body and being thin that's the only reason I would find it a problem. That's the exact same thing as saying that you find issues with men being topless and wearing nothing but swimming trunks.

Yeah, I know it's a discussion forum and I don't mind discussing this at all. What I do mind is people telling me that I shouldn't listen to my favorite music or watch the music videos when I'm not looking for opinions from the peanut gallery and that's how it was coming a crossed.

That would definitely be an issue. Especially if they are obese.

On a more serious note, I agree that if you like a song and share that preference with others, is not really up for debate. That's your personal preference. But you could put a disclaimer at the top saying:
MY PERSONAL PREFERENCES ARE NON-DEBATABLE.:cool:

LOL you're actually a lot more likeable than I thought. :) And seriously I think it's a good song. If you search for it on YouTube without the music video part you might actually like it.

Btw, I'm not the only member here who has had this issue before. @historyb made an innocent topic about liking to play videogames and he got attacks too and I found that even more ridiculous than this!! Just because we're Christians doesn't mean we eat, sleep, and breathe the Bible!! We're regular people with regular interests and for some strange reason people tend to forget that.
