When Do You Think He Knew?

Jesus said in Mark 13:32 that even He didn't know the day or hour of His return.

The day and the hour of His return was sealed in the scroll that He would receive after He accomplished His mission, death and resurrection.

And therefore, He was not Omniscient, largely because He had emptied Himself of Omniscience in order to function fully as a human being (Philippians 2:5-8).

Emptied his spirit into a human vessel, does not mean his mind. I think it is likened to a glass of water being poured into a different container.
As for my post, it is all conjecture on my part, my rationale, nothing worth debating about.

I would say certainly by the age of 12, but maybe earlier than that. Luke 2:49 says Mary and Joseph couldn't find him and Jesus said he was doing his fathers business. And he may or may not have been sassy about it, by the way. It certainly seems that Mary was scolding him and even (incorrectly) calls Joseph his father.

He was His father just like somebody else had said. He was His earthly father but He was still His father.

Well yea... I always need a nap. But i still feel that way. Joseph was Jesus's step father. He was instrumental in that roll. He was blessed for that. But Jesus's father was the Father! And it was the Holy Ghost that got Mary pregnent so you Trinitarians got to sort out that mess!

But my whole point is whether you consider Joseph as Jesus's real daddy or not, it doesn't have a whole lot of bearing on the original question... Other than the conversation Mary had with Jesus where she said, "Where have you been Jesus? Your Father and I were worried sick about you!" And 12 year old Jesus said, "I was doing my Father's business!"

Sorry... But its a nonessential argument as it pertains to your question. Or am I wrong?

When do you think that Jesus knew who He was and that He had to die on the cross for our sins? I would think that that would be rather difficult for a five year old to handle, but I think by twelve years old He was preaching in the temple. Since the Bible is pretty much silent on the childhood of Jesus I'm more curious of opinions or if there are ways to get the answer.

point is with quoting these verses is Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
so not sure when he knew but grew towards “Father, not my will but your Will be done”. What stands out is they didn’t recognize his teaching and were always questioning “who taught him?”
