I've been very careful to say 'true believers' are the ones who have the anointing of discernment. Protestant churches are full of unsaved, fake believers just like the Catholic church is. No organized church, Protestant or Catholic, is the true church in the world today. The true 'church' of Jesus doesn't exist in an identifiable body of assembled believers at this time in history. The point being, the competing doctrines of the anti-Catholics doesn't mean none of us have the anointing of the Spirit to discern truth. It means there are lots of fake believers in the Protestant churches who don't have the believer's power of discernment just as there are in the Catholic church.
For even as paul once said , ALL men including himself must be tested .
We got a power house of a falling away going on right now .
Rome leads in it , but so too do many of her daughters in the protestant realm .

This is how we are supposed to meet.....

26What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a psalm or a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done to build up the church.27If anyone speaks in a tongue, two, or at most three, should speak in turn, and someone must interpret. 28But if there is no interpreter, he should remain silent in the church and speak only to himself and God.29Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30And if a revelation comes to someone who is seated, the first speaker should stop. 31For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32The spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. 33For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace—as in all the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:26-33

Let me know when the one and only true and accurate Catholic church starts obeying Paul's counsel.
That church leads in the falling away . I suggest the lambs return to house churches and be focused on learning those bibles well
and testing all who do speak . We got us a madhouse of a falling away going on within christendom .

The eliminator , for such is his name , cometh in the name of Rome
but the lambs must come in the name of JESUS and do battle and contend for the true faith
which was originally given unto the church .
We got us a madhouse of slaves to men leading the masses into much apostacy . And i for one , by grace , will defend
the true biblical faith and truth till the final breath . I wont heed Rome nor her sold out daughters .
And if that costs me , in time , betrayal and much persecution and even death , THEN I DIE HAPPY in JESUS .
OH praise GOD , let the lambs say , when we suffer for JESUS .
May our last words be , OH THANK YOU GOD for allowing me to suffer for Christ , to fill up the sufferings of Christ
and thank you OH LORD for the partaking of the ressurection in Christ . Go out faithful
no matter the cost .

no it say quote:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

this Cannot refer to salvation

I must believe and confess but here it says not of yourselves!!

if it is only by Christ is refers to redemption!!

So you are arguing a nonscriptural idea. I cannot argue against it for I hold to SCripture and not some human philosophical piece of misplaced loggic.

God inspired the word saved and not redeemed. You should accept that if you want to be obedient to God and not some Pope.

Ferris thinks that blind obedience to doctrines and robotic participation in liturgy is all that Catholicism amounts to. No wonder he is so confused.

Arguments over words brings ruin.

Once someone demonstrates that they will dispute over whether a word in Scripture means what that word means, it's over.

I find that the end of pretty much every dispute over the interpretation of a passage, if someone is actually able to debate to a reasonable conclusion, it pretty much always, seems to me, comes down to someone pointing to a verse and saying, Yes, it says THAT, but it actually means THIS.

If concluded that a correct understand will harmonize throughout the Bible, without having to do that.

Much love!

Well I would tend to agree with that. But with the Cults and the modernists infiltrating teh churches, they change meanings of words to fit their agendas.

God inspired words and we should accept what they meant to the writers and not to the modern listener. It is understanding words that we form sentences and thoughts and how doctrine becomes established.

Let me give you an example.

A JW on another thread uses the passage "My Father is greatr than I to deny the deity of Jesus and show that the Father is by essence and nature better than Jesus. He misuses words.

Yeah. When Paul wrote the word "saved" that is what God wanted Him to write and not the word "redeemed" which is a totally different word and has a different meaning. (actually there are three words in the Greek we translate as redeem).

Paul teaches Timothy, and charges Timothy to teach others, who will likewise teach. This is precisely what the transfer of authority means. You define it and the you say it's not there. The authority is transferred by the laying on of hands by a bishop, not by a committee.

Acts 6:6 – apostolic authority is transferred through the laying on of hands (ordination). This authority has transferred beyond the original twelve apostles as the Church has grown.

Acts 9:17-19 – even Paul, who was directly chosen by Christ, only becomes a minister after the laying on of hands by a bishop. This is a powerful proof-text for the necessity of sacramental ordination in order to be a legitimate successor of the apostles.

Acts 13:3 – apostolic authority is transferred through the laying on of hands (ordination). This authority must come from a bishop, not by a committee who hires a pastor.

Acts 14:23 – the apostles and newly-ordained men appointed elders to have authority throughout the Church.

Acts 15:22-27 – preachers of the Word must be sent by the bishops in union with the Church. We must trace this authority to the apostles.

2 Cor. 1:21-22 – Paul writes that God has commissioned certain men and sealed them with the Holy Spirit as a guarantee.

Col 1:25 – Paul calls his position a divine “office.” An office has successors. It does not terminate at death. Or it’s not an office. See also Heb. 7:23 – an office continues with another successor after the previous office-holder’s death.

1 Tim. 3:1 – Paul uses the word “episcopoi” (bishop) which requires an office. Everyone understood that Paul’s use of episcopoi and office meant it would carry on after his death by those who would succeed him.

1 Tim. 4:14 – again, apostolic authority is transferred through the laying on of hands (ordination).

"But there is no transfer of authority here". Seriously??? I can lead a horse to water but I can't make him drink.

I'm not confused. I know what Catholicism is about.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. Romans 14:17-18

Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence. Colossians 2:20-23

Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so. We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat. Hebrews 13:9-10

But food does not bring us closer to God: We are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do. 1 Corinthians 8:8

Catholics think the accuracy of their doctrines and liturgy, with all their long winded, man made explanations and rules is what God is looking for and pleases him. Catholicism has missed it by a mile. That is a church that is on the wide road to destruction. The Catholic leadership is to the church what the Pharisees were to the people of Israel. Anti-Catholics have their fair share of the same. Christianity is about individual believers in exile scattered to the four corners of the world. The Holy Spirit is the one who guides them through all the falseness.

And no one since the death of John the apostle has held the office of Apostle. There have been bishops, elders and presbyteriuos, but no more apostles. doctrine was closed bythe Apostles.

The one true church is every true believer with whatever gift(s) they possess, scattered to the four corners of the world. Because of the business model of the church today it is impossible to assemble a pure, undefiled group of believers into a one true physical church.

new flash! RN says this verse now reads

For by works are ye saved through faith; and that is of yourselves: it is not the gift of God:

and in this corner Jesus Christ “truth itself” who says quote
matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

If you think this is only limited to a select and few called priests of the Catholic church why are you and your friends here usurping their authority?
