Well... On meditating on the effect on Jezebel I started thinking in opposite terms...

The opposite of Thyatira is Laodicea...

The opposite of the Jezebel spirit is one without any discipline or control....

In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes. -Judges 17:6

So there is a danger of totally removing a controlling spirit where there is no control at all. Everyone is doing their own thing, you can't tell anybody anything, and a spirit of rebellion and anarchy prevails. And since no one is in control the services become as exciting as watching cattle in the field chew the cud.

And that of course would be the Holy Spirit... Very much agreed.

I took time to witness to my chemist one day when it was just him and I in the Lab. He was at the microscope and seemingly ignored what I had told him. So I quit talking and went back to my work at my desk. And then after several minutes he speaks! "You know what I think it is?" He asks... " I think it is arrogance." He then replied... And then continued analyzing his data at the microscope not even taking time to make eye contact. How could I defend that? There are many times when we Christians simply do not know what spirit we are of!

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.- Luke 9: 54-56

I use to serve at youth camp and made the comment about the devil operating through church people. There was a guy at camp who went into an uproar over that and tried to have me removed from camp. Several years later he comes to me at camp meeting and personally apologized to me over his remarks. I have often wondered what kind of trials that poor man went through before arriving at that conclusion! There are simply times when we Christians do not know what spirit are of. Paul saw this as a trait of young Christians and mentioned this to Timothy.

Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. -1 Timothy 3:6
