One of the guys who tried to help the injured was one of the lifeguards from ‘ Bondi Rescue ‘ - use to watch it some years ago. S
I recognised him as he was interviewed by Sky news - made me realise how many years ago that was as he is so much older now !!

I see that a policewoman took down the knife wielding lunatic. Job well done! It's a good thing that at least cops in Australia are allowed to have guns. Not jumping to any conclusions, but I did read on Wikipedia that Jews can be found throughout the Greater Sydney area, although approximately two-thirds reside in the eastern suburbs, from Vaucluse, through Randwick, Bondi and Double Bay, to Darlinghurst-East Sydney, where many of the service organizations are located.

This mass stabbing attack took place at the Westfield Bondi Junction Shopping Centre in Sydney, Australia and the Westfield Bondi Junction Shopping Centre is a prominent retail destination located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia.
Yes, they mentioned that in the news report earlier this morning. They have said that the guy was known by the police but as of yet not confirmed the motives.

I have just checked the news on my computer, and I would suggest that we all pray for the people involved in this incident. Why this person went on a rampage is not known although it is possible that the police have an inkling of the man's motives as it seems that he was known to the police.

I suspect that this incident is associated with relationship break down and that the man was probably pushed to his breaking point which has resulted in this particular outcome.

There have been many incidences in Australia where relationship breakdowns have been pushed over the edge by people who believe that they have the best interests of one particular participant in the relationship breakdown in mind and have fuelled this outcome to the point where people have died as a result.

I remember one such incident around the corner from where I lived at that time where after a young couple living in a relationship returned home with young children and the girl's father forced a breakup of the relationship and would not let the father even see his own children.

The male person in this relationship was pushed to his breaking point by the girlfriend's family and he obtained a rifle and went around to the girlfriend's family home and shot dead a number of people, one of them being the girlfriend's father.

It will not be known until all of the facts associated with this incident are known, before the story within this incident will be fully understood.

We, the people on the outside looking in, should keep our opinions to ourselves until we become fully informed on the circumstances that lead to this particular outcome.

Uninformed opinions often add to the stress of the people who were close and impacted by the resulting actions of this man.

Oh well, such is life.

But it is still wrong to jump to that conclusion in this case and situation
No one is jumping to any conclusion, let alone THAT conclusion.

The news reports and Police interviews have not provided enough factual information to determine or draw any conclusions.

What conclusion do you think could be drawn?

I see that a policewoman took down the knife wielding lunatic. Job well done!

Be careful @mailmandan, you might get scolded for jumping to THAT conclusion before all the facts are in.

Why this person went on a rampage is not known
This is at least the 3rd post in this thread cautioning that the story is breaking.

It seems the need to know why becomes an obsession for people, like slowing down to watch a car accident. From a practical standpoint, I’ve come to realize the WHAT matters more than HOW or WHY. Evil exists in this world.

Murder, rape, robbery and kidnapping happen every single day. Some of these events are sensationalized. Most are ignored by the media.

With the death of OJ, I had reason to recall the Zimmerman ‘White Hispanic’ story. At church, there was a public prayer which I ended the chain. I prayed for the families of the 155 Black kids killed in Chicago since that were killed by Blacks and not reported on. Their lives matter just as much and their families pain is just as real. So, let’s keep it real folks.

I suspect …

Whoa. Weren’t you the one who was just warning everyone the news reports and Police interviews have not provided enough factual information to determine or draw any conclusions? Why bother speculating?

Or is it OK to suspect Cause B but Cause A, (THAT Conclusion) is not OK?

What recommendations do you make IF your suspicion is proved correct? Honestly, I’m surprised there are not a lot more murders due to relationships …

We, the people on the outside looking in, should keep our opinions to ourselves until we become fully informed on the circumstances that lead to this particular outcome.

I’m confused. I thought you were the guy who was just speculating. I guess it’s OK for you to share your opinions on the circumstances that lead to this particular outcome (relationship) - but not others.

Uninformed opinions often add to the stress of the people who were close and impacted by the resulting actions of this man.
This is the most disturbing post in this thread.

We’ve become so infantilized that social media buzz should be stifled on the chance that it “often adds” to life altering and life ending stress. Really?

Someone close to me was brutally attacked or murdered and I’m going to get all worked up over social media comments?! You’ve got to be kidding me!

I have been talking about such that one can do with a knife when people are shopping. Of late in fact with a group of old people i meet with every 2 weeks or so.

I pointed out such in regards to all of the shootings we have, regardless of the Gun Laws.

So i said about Switzerland has Guns and much more and no such problems, as our 3rd rate society, where we have created such morons ! for they are everywhere nowadays ! and our idiot Governments created such in fact !

Lucky for me that i know how to deal with people with a knife so does my mum and one moron killed an old woman of late just were my mum goes to shop, she would of killed that punk even tho she is in her 80's easy ! as it just becomes a natural action when one is trained for such.
I pointed this out to all them old dudes and also said that if we all had a right to a Pistol, who would get away with doing such as we see nowadays going on all the time now ?

One would fear for your life to bring out a Knife on people like that or even a Gun ! because you would know that you will be shot for sure !
Same with some moron coming into ones home to steal rape etc, if they knew that they could be shot for such, i think they will think twice before entering ones home for sure !
Would i think of entering ones home with such an intent, No way ! i can not see why anyone would ! and if they did, so be it ! the chance of being shot would be high !

But the thing is nowadays is that people are stupid, stupid is as stupid does !

Why am i not surprised of such as the killings that are going on nowadays, well i know one thing for sure, such as is only going to get much worse as the years go on regardless of modern day Socialist Laws. For they do not address the real problem in fact, but create all of the problems in fact.

Cauchi was thought to have moved from Queensland to New South Wales last month, authorities confirmed this morning.
Webb said NSW Police were working with Queensland Police in their investigations.

"In terms of the individual, he's not known criminally but he has come to the notice of law enforcement in this state and Queensland for mental health related issues," she said today.

"We're working with them because the holdings may not just be police holdings, they might be mental health holdings."

Assistant Commissioner Anthony Cooke earlier today said police had spoken to his family and they were cooperating with investigators.

"We know that shortly after coming to Sydney, he took possession of a storage facility that has been identified and we have worked through that very small storage facility," he said.

He said while the reason for the attack was not confirmed, police expected it was related to the killer's mental health.

I have post the above extract from the published report to help readers to understand what has taken place.

God rest those who died. Including the terrorist.

Take guns away and criminals will use something else to destroy lives.

If you had read my post above, you would have known that the man was suffering from mental health related issues. The Police had stated that he was not a terrorist.

Actually, the police said there is yet no evidence that links him to any ideology.

Terrorist is by definition an apt description for what transpired.
Terrorists are also by definition mentally ill.

Yes, I've known that to happen. New Zealand, and things pertaining to our nation are often mistakenly attributed to Australia, but usually dealt with in good humour.

Maybe he had taken some bad drugs down their and just flipped out !

One of the people who dealt with him at the time, said that he could clearly see that no one was at home in the old brain box, it was like he was flipped out !

I do not think he was yelling ? just in a trance like state ?

This is one internet report of the second stabbing incident in Sydney: -

A teenager has been arrested after a church leader and several worshippers were stabbed during a service in Sydney’s west on Monday night, triggering a near-riot which required hundreds of police to bring under control.

Graphic footage captured on a livestream shows Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel speaking at the altar of Wakeley’s Christ The Good Shepherd Church as a male, wearing a black jumper, walks towards him and pulls out an implement.

As horrified churchgoers scream and run to safety, the male stabs the priest in the chest. The priest then falls to the floor and is stabbed a further five times as worshippers rush towards him and manage to separate the assailant from the priest.

Video taken in the aftermath of the stabbing shows the bishop on the floor as parishioners hold bandages against his head. Other footage shows the attacker smiling as he is held to the floor by a police officer.

NSW acting Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland told reporters the 15-year-old suspect “sustained injuries to his hand as a result of his actions”. He said the stabbing suspect was held down by parishioners of the church until police arrived.

“Police were in the process of conveying the young person from the church when it was identified a large group had gathered outside,” Mr Holland said. “A decision was made to retain the young person in the church for his safety”.

Four people were injured in the attack. A man in his 50s and another man in his 30s were taken to Liverpool Hospital with multiple lacerations. At the height on Monday night’s disturbance in nearby Wakeley, the hospital’s emergency department was closed to members of the public as a precaution.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were treating a man in his 20s with lacerations to his hand and a man in his 60s with lacerations to his arm at the scene. None of the injuries have been deemed life-threatening.

The attack triggered an angry response from hundreds of community members who quickly gathered outside the church. Many believed the attacker was still inside and did not want to let him leave for medical treatment.

The police helicopter, the tactical unit and dozens of uniformed officers spent several hours countering the crowd. Riot Squad officers used shields to push the crowd back from the church and nearby streets.

The police helicopter circled overhead broadcasting the message: “All persons, please vacate the area immediately.”

Some projectiles were thrown at police throughout the night and footage shows several NSW Police vehicles with smashed windows and damaged panelling.

One police officer, who is unable to be identified for safety reasons, told this masthead: “The crowd was attacking us, throwing things and being aggressive as we tried to help their bishop. I said to them, ‘We aren’t your enemy’.”

Two police officers were taken to hospital after being injured by members of the crowd who broke into “a number of houses to gain weapons to throw at the police”, Holland said, adding that some in the group also threw items at the church in a bid to get access to the suspect.

“They need to let police to do their jobs and let us do the investigation,” he said. “Police will make arrests in the future in relation to this public order incident.”

The church said Bishop Emmanuel and a senior priest were in a stable condition and appealed for calm.

“We ask for your prayers at this time,” the church said in a statement posted on social media.

“We also kindly ask anyone at the church to leave in peace as our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, teaches us.”

The stabbed bishop is the leader of an ultra-conservative sect of the Assyrian Orthodox faith who took on an outsized role in the Christian Lives Matter movement.

He preached fire and brimstone in services that were livestreamed and attracted hardline Christians for his anti-LGBTQ sermons and pandemic scepticism.

Fairfield deputy mayor Charbel Saliba was not present at the church but said witnesses had told him that after the bishop was stabbed, the religious leader “put his hand on the assailant and started praying”.

The identity of the offender is not known but police said the male had been taken to an “undisclosed location” following his arrest.
. . . .

The Australian National Imams Council said it and the Australian Muslim community “unequivocally condemns” the attack on the bishop.
“These attacks are horrifying and have no place in Australia, particularly at places of worship and towards religious leaders,” the organisation said in a statement.

“We urge the community to stay calm and work together towards the safety and security of Australians.”

The above report provides not enough information to form an informed opinion as to what actually took place.

Shalom

Want to put an end to this garbage? Let that gathered outdoor crowd have him.

Live stream that.

The nuts get famous.

Let the justice afforded by their intended victims insure they are infamous. Posthumously.
