sure its most often premediated and hurts only its victim and maybe a few family members .. yet one has to admit so does homosexuality and its legal ..
so why put those who go for suiside in jail and make them get help.. seems rather unfair does it not?

let me know what you think .. equal treatment for those who commit suside and homosexuality ..

It matters little if suicide is legal or illegal, the penalty is death. :)

actualy the suisidial person whos time was not up

many times Ends up as a basket case still living and breathing
but having to have help with even basic bodly functions

often severe mental disabilities are the result of a gun shot wound .

well placed for death EXCEPTING IT WAS NOT THEIR TIME..

PEOPLE HAVE SURVIVED but messed up badly after jumping out of air planes thousands of feet up..
simply because it was not their appointed time. they thought life was bad before they have no idea how they can mess up their life by attempting suiside..not to mention the life of a loved one ---who now is having to take care of a selfish basket case of a loved one..

Job 14:5
Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.

I never did understand the whole point of suicide being legal or not. People who do it intent to place themselves outside of any legal system including legal system of God so why would they care if it is legal or not?

John Stuart Mill argued it was harmful to society, such as if a young man kills himself and leaves his wife and kids behind destitute. That was true in 19th century England of course but it still is a true point today.

The only reason for making suicide a legal issue is an attempt to control people at the most basic level - it is an illusion and futile

It's only illegal because of the almighty dollar and insurance companies not paying if someone kills themselves intentionally. They think (and are probably correct), that people will take out million dollar policies and then kill themselves. So they had to make it illegal.

Suicide is the ultimate tragedy , it is akin to murdering oneself because life has become too hard to handle ... and it is a lonely death ... very few suicide victims do it to affect other people , mostly they just want to escape from other people

I have known normal decent people who committed suicide because their business was failing and they could not endure the shame.

I have known families who had a gay teenager who could not deal with the confusion and killed himself.

I do not feel laws would have changed the outcomes , yet I do not know the answer to prevent suicide , other than teaching people it is OK to fail once in a while and start over.

I agree with you on this one Arnie. Laws do not change peoples perspective on how they view life but the author of life can. Since he himself offered his own life for the sake of all. He can also offer hope to those who struggle within themselves...

self murder
its a selfish thing.. which if they like it or not does affect other people especially loved ones,, And many of them will always be thinking they could have done something to prevent it ..

its also can be a get back at loved ones thing they know the hell they will be doing to loved ones..

no matter how we look at it .. it always is a selfish act. a worship at the alter of self,, every sin is a sin against the first commandment thou
shalt have no other Gods.. every sin is a turning away from God as .the only Lord..

yet God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son ....

I agree completely. It's clear that suicide is a public health issue so we need polices that address it as such. Beyond that, what better freedom than the inverse of the right to life? The right to die as you wish when you wish and in a relatively pain free manner through proper medical means is something we afford our dogs and cats. Why not us?

on the other hand, if the state gets to determine who gets to marry whom - why not suicide?

I think everyone who commits suicide should have to spend 1 to 3 years in jail.

Seems you are letting them off easy, why not life in prison?

It is Ironic that some suicides are a cry for help , but by then it is too late.

Many "attempted suicides" are actually just "attention getters" ... they never really planned to go thru with it .... and they spend the rest of their lives telling everyone they meet about it

It takes a lot of guts to actually do it .... and they dont want anyone to know ahead of time ..... which makes it nearly impossible to diagnose ahead of time ,

Surviving family and friends always say .... "if only we had known " ...

Suicide isn't a crime to begin with, in that people who commit suicide are already beyond the reach of law enforcement. To criminalize people who attempt it unsuccessfully seems harsh and unnecessary. In my opinion, suicide should not be encouraged by the state as it is not a happy thing.

i am for it being illegal . It is self murder

those who try to murder should be locked up until they can get help and are safe to them selves or others..
