<It worked out very well, for here are you and I, recipients of and believers in the gospel.>

I myself came to the faith through Gentiles, not through Jews.

The Jewish leaders were appalled when Jesus said, "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30). They turned him over to King Herod, who directed that he be beaten and crucified. A lunar eclipse expressed the awful sadness in heaven (Matthew 27:45).

Ideally the Jews would all recognize Jesus as their Messiah, but currently that is not the case, rather Israeli is largely in spiritual blindness.

"Marks on the body" was/is a pagan tradition.

Not always.

Gen_4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Eze_9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

For example:

"And the LORD said unto him, 'Go through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.'"(Ezekiel 9:4).

I would view "put a mark"as "make note of."

I suppose it could mean a physical mark as well. But if they were to mark a person, they would need to know that he/she was on the list.

I am not sure how this verse factors in...

Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

David in New Jersey noted:

>Moses knew about planet earth when he wrote Genesis.>

"Earth" in Genesis 1:1 is Hebrew ארץ (Arets) = "land."

There was no no concept of planet earth in the distant past. Ships sailing out to sea would sink below the horizon, which I imagine would suggest a curved surface to those watching.

Today = Do the ships sailing out to sea still 'sink' below the horizon as they follow the supposed 'curve'???

<Do the ships sailing out to sea still 'sink' below the horizon as they follow the supposed 'curve?>

The earth is spherical, hence a ship,.moving away from a viewer, in any direction, will reduce what is seen by the viewer.

The earth is spherical, hence moving from a point, in any direction, will reduce what is seen.
Factually/Scientifically proven as false.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The earth does not move.

The ship reaches a point BEYOND which the human eye can see as designed in the Creation by God.

With today's advanced magnification, the ship is brought back into sight.

By the 5th century B.C., Greek thinkers like Pythagoras, Empedocles, and Anaxagoras proposed a spherical Earth. Aristotle later supported this with evidence, such as the curved shadow of Earth on the moon during lunar eclipses.

It does not matter what shape they thought the earth was, or what continents they knew about, the disciples were commanded to preach the gospel to the entire world.

Matthew 28:19

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

IMO:

There was no concept of a ball-shaped planet earth in early times.

>Aristotle later supported this with evidence, such as the curved shadow of Earth on the moon during lunar eclipses.>

A circular flat earth could cause the same effect. The observation thus indicates that the earth is circular, but not necessarily spherical.

My Dear Brother in Christ,

You combined two distinct viewpoints of the earth, sun, moon, stars and creation itself.
Viewpoint #1 is from Above = from the Creator given to us in His Word
Viewpoint #2a - is from beneath = men from ancient times(though very intellectual) attempting to know based on limited observance that can and does have erroneous conclusions.
Viewpoint #2b - NASA = created and formed by satanists to deceive the world - they have been very successful even upon christians

Here is some info on NASA

LOVE the TRUTH = WATER is TRUTH concerning the physical Creation AND more

LOVE the TRUTH = Viewpoints 2a and 2b are designed by deception = Romans 1:18-20

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.

SHALOM my Brother and Thank You for your love in Christ

Claiming "erroneous conclusions" without supporting facts is begging the question.

The facts are found in the Scriptures beginning in Genesis chapter 1

Everyone must seek out the truth on their own = if one truly wants to know!

Jeremiah 17:9-10
9“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.

But it was the original Jewish disciples of Jesus who evangelized gentiles as they spread the gospel to all nations, as Jesus commanded them to do. If you traced back the roots of how the gospel came to you, at the beginning it was Jews who took the gospel to the world. Paul, Peter, John, Matthew, Andrew, etc. Thank God for them!

Jesus commanded his disciples not to go to the Gentiles (Matthew 10:5).
That command was before His death and resurrection, which tore down the barrier between Jew and gentile.

After Jesus rose from the dead, He expanded the command to include all peoples.

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Ephesians 2:14

For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.
