IMO:

o This conflict is Middle Eastern only, not all over the world.

o Refusal to take the mark has consequences (Revelation 13:15-17).

o Taking the mark has worse consequences (Revelation 14:9-11).

o Petra time! (Matthew 24:15-28, Zechariah 14:5).
you think we are in Daniel's 70th week????

The 70th Week began with the 1st Coming of CHRIST

I really think that we need to understand who the main characters are in this 20 Hebrew worded verse so as to understand the breadth of the time span spoken of in this short prophetic word.

Trying to make every prophetic word in scripture about Christ is not always appropriate when the prophecy is pointing towards very different players in the distant future, even from today.

Hello Jay,

Thank You for your kind response.

The 70th Week of Daniel chapter 9 must, without equal, speak of Christ for it deals specifically with the removal of sin, transgression and iniquity.
The only blood that is available to the Jewish people and the entire world is the Atoning BLOOD of Christ.

We SEE the Atoning BLOOD of Christ in Daniel chapter 9

“Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.

Furthermore, Everlasting Righteousness is ONLY attainable through CHRIST = Romans 10:1-4

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Thanks again Jay for this reminder of where, when, why and thru Whom our sins are washed away.

It is obvious that you have not understood who the players are in this verse. Below is my understanding/paraphrasing of this verse: -

1778810159235.png
1778810187922.png
The common problem people have is that Daniel 9:24-27 has six precise prophecies contained within these verses and they become obsessed with attempting to fit all of the prophetic words within 490 Years whereas, the time span of these six independent prophecies spans three and a half ages, i.e. approximately 3,580 solar years.

Below is my paraphrase: -

The Seventy-Weeks Prophecy

20 Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God, 21 yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. 22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. 23 At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore, consider the matter, and understand the vision:

First Prophecy[1]

24 "Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins/sinning.

Second Prophecy[2]

{And then after the 70 weeks of years Christ comes,}[3]

To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most/a sacred place {as being} Holy.

Third Prophecy[4]

25 "Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.

Fourth Prophecy[5]

26 "And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;

Fifth Prophecy[6]

And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

Sixth Prophecy[7]

27 Then he, {Who is insolent} shall confirm a {solemn} covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolator."

This is my understanding and our respective understandings are very different

[1] This prophecy must be completed by Daniel’s people and the city of Jerusalem within a window of grace of 490 years, before the end of the fourth Age, after which the visitation of the iniquities of the fathers will be visited upon their children and the children’s children in the third and fourth age.

[2] The second half of verse 24 specifies what Christ is required to do to bring a new form/process for the redemption of Israel and all of the peoples of the earth.

[3] This line has been added for clarity as to how the means of redemption was going to be achieved. Because Israel would not repent or stop their continual idolatrous worship, i.e. the Exodus 20:4-6 prophecy of the visitation of the father’s sins of their continual idolatrous worship on their children and the children’s children, would begin at the start of the third age of the existence of Israel from the time of Isaac’s birth and would continue for a period of two ages.

It should be noted that the birth of Christ occurred at the beginning of the fifth age of mankind which also coincided with the beginning of the third age of the existence of Israel from the time of Isaac’s birth and the visitation of the consequences of their iniquities of continual idolatrous worship.

[4] Verse 25 speaks of the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem until the Messiah comes to fulfil verse 24b

[5] This prophecy tells us when Christ will fulfil the second prophecy in verse 24b.

[6] Verse 26b speaks of the destruction of the city and its sanctuary which will last until the end of the trampling of God’s Sanctuary and His earthly hosts at the completion of the decreed 2,300 years. At this time the visitation of the Father’s iniquities upon their children and the children’s children will also end. Verse 26b has a time span of around 2,000 or so years and ends when Isaiah 24:21-22 is fulfilled and the Judged heavenly hosts and the kings of the earth are imprisoned.

[7] Verse 27 prophecy possibly points to either the Little Horn/False Prophet or to Satan as entering into a solemn covenant during the Little While Period which is eventually broken by Satan.

This is my understanding of this

you think we are in Daniel's 70th week????

Getting ready to start.

The final 70th week of Daniel 9 is about the final 7 years of this present world culminating in Christ's 2nd coming on the last day.

When it is time to end all wars, then the actual Antichrist-falseMessiah will show up in Jerusalem and make a covenant for building the 3rd temple and starting up sacrifices again (i.e., old covenant worship by the Jews). In the middle of that 7 years, that false one will end sacrificial worship and instead proclaim himself as God over all that is called God, or that is worshiped.

The 70th Week will be finished at His 2nd Coming = last 3.5 years of the Antichrist/Mark of the Beast

But Daniel 9:27 has only a seven-solar-year total span, yet, from what you have posted, my understanding of your post is that you are claiming that the time span actually approaches 3,072 years by splitting the prophetic word in Dan 9:27 by inserting a very large gap of around 3,050 solar years into your solution.

The illogical conclusion that you have made, simply does not fly.

David, demanding that I read Mat 24 and Rev 1 and then pray on it does not change the illogical understanding that you have of Daniel 9:27.

It seems to me that you are not willing to face the dilemma that you have created for yourself.

Goodbye as this conversation cannot move on because of your intransient stubbornness to hold onto the flawed tradition of past misunderstandings.

There is no "dilemma" in reading the Holy Scriptures

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place.
And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

<Out of what land do you believe that beast will rise?>

I assume the beast will go up the same path he took going down, somewhere in the Middle East. This will occur after his 1000-years incarceration (Revelation 20:2).

<you think we are in Daniel's 70th week?>

No, that will not occur until Satan is released from the Bottomless Pit which happens during the Little While period at the end of the seventh age.

I think that's what happens in the 70th week

I agree with you. My understanding of Daniel 9:27 is that it unfolds over one continuous seven year period with no gaps within the bounds of this one verse prophecy.

You "good boy." Complying to the usual directive that we should read the scriptures every day to gather "enlightment." Your enlightenment with respect to Dan 9:27 misses the prophetic point as to what is being stated in this one verse prophecy.

Actually, meditating carefully on the scriptures is also required to put the scriptures into the right context.

There is no "dilemma" in reading the Holy Scriptures

You have taken my comment out of context. I was referring to the dilemma of flawed understanding of Dan 9:27 and how you want to insert a long-time-line gap into the centre of the verse where no time gap exists.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place.
And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

I see no connection or relativity between Dan 9:27 and Rev 1.

Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

This is good biblical advice.

Perhaps Rev 13 provides the retelling of Dan 9:27 in this chapter.

Also, with respect to Mat 24:13-14: - 15 "Therefore, when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains." these two verses allude to Dan 9:27.

Sadly, the scriptures you suggested that I read do not support the understanding that you presented in respect to Daniel 9:27.

Those two verses about the abomination of desolation refer to Daniel 12:11-12.
