Like, I know it's still 2 years or something before the next U.S. presidential election, but some people are already discussing and debating over who should be the next U.S. President.

This is especially notable as back in 2016, JD Vance was actually one of the MAGA movement's fiercest critics, so his drastic political shift is all the more surprising.

The great tragedy is that many of the problems Trump identifies are real, and so many of the hurts he exploits demand serious thought and measured action—from governments, yes, but also from community leaders and individuals. Yet so long as people rely on that quick high, so long as wolves point their fingers at everyone but themselves, the nation delays a necessary reckoning. There is no self-reflection in the midst of a false euphoria. Trump is cultural heroin. He makes some feel better for a bit. But he cannot fix what ails them, and one day they’ll realize it.

I’m not sure when or how that realization arrives: maybe in a few months, when Trump loses the election; maybe in a few years, when his supporters realize that even with a President Trump, their homes and families are still domestic war zones, their newspapers’ obituaries continue to fill with the names of people who died too soon, and their faith in the American Dream continues to falter. But it will come, and when it does, I hope Americans cast their gaze to those with the most power to address so many of these problems: each other. And then, perhaps the nation will trade the quick high of “Make America Great Again” for real medicine.

I was watching this recent interview with Usha Vance, and she says that they want to take things "one step at a time" or something. Whom do you guys think should be the next President ideally, and why exactly??

Vice President JD Vance leads a hypothetical 2028 Republican presidential primary with 32 percent, ahead of Donald Trump Jr. at 19 percent and Secretary of State Marco Rubio at 12 percent.

The McLaughlin & Associates findings offer an early look at the competition to inherit President Donald Trump’s political coalition, even though the next presidential election remains more than two years away.

Republican voters have not settled on a successor, but Vance starts with the widest support across the party’s principal demographic and ideological groups, according to this latest poll.

Do you guys have any thoughts so far??

Best president? Donald Trump, but we might have to settle for Vance with Trump in his Cabinet.

"Who do you think would be best U.S. President in 2028?"

The one God appoints.

Romans 13:1
1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For
there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

I know this probably isn't on anyone's bingo card,
but if your looking for a good economy rather than a pastor or a preacher or any kind of "religious" leader,
I would vote for.........

Although I probably could fill a bingo card with all the but's and what if's.

:D
Hugs

And yes, I know he is gay.

I can tell you who I hope the republican candidate runs against, AOC!
I hope the democrats keep putting up their weakest, most extremist guys for POTUS, that could be AOC or Newsome.

Someone they need to choose that independents wont like, cause it seems independent voters, non party voters, will sway the election.
Most democrats will auto vote for whoever the party puts up front, rubber stamp them.

God changed this heathen king's heart
So it is not totally hopeless, God can put over a nation the lowest of men as v17 says, but may not leave them like that.

Daniel 4
Nebuchadnezzar the king,
To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth:
Peace be multiplied to you.
2 I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.
3 How great are His signs,
And how mighty His wonders!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And His dominion is from generation to generation.

4 I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace. 5 I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts on my bed and the visions of my head troubled me. 6 Therefore I issued a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. 7 Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told them the dream; but they did not make known to me its interpretation. 8 But at last Daniel came before me (his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; in him is the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, saying: 9 “Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you, and no secret troubles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.
10 “These were the visions of my head while on my bed:
I was looking, and behold,
A tree in the midst of the earth,
And its height was great.
11 The tree grew and became strong;
Its height reached to the heavens,
And it could be seen to the ends of all the earth.
12 Its leaves were lovely,
Its fruit abundant,
And in it was food for all.
The beasts of the field found shade under it,
The birds of the heavens dwelt in its branches,
And all flesh was fed from it.
13 “I saw in the visions of my head while on my bed, and there was a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven. 14 He cried [a]aloud and said thus:
‘Chop down the tree and cut off its branches,
Strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit.
Let the beasts get out from under it,
And the birds from its branches.
15 Nevertheless leave the stump and roots in the earth,
Bound with a band of iron and bronze,
In the tender grass of the field.
Let it be wet with the dew of heaven,
And let him graze with the beasts
On the grass of the earth.
16 Let his heart be changed from that of a man,
Let him be given the heart of a beast,
And let seven times[b] pass over him.

17 ‘This decision is by the decree of the watchers,
And the sentence by the word of the holy ones,
In order that the living may know
That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men,
Gives it to whomever He will,
And sets over it the lowest of men.’

18 “This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, declare its interpretation, since all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for the Spirit of the Holy God is in you.”
