It's a pity you ignored this:

Ro 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

When you lower the standard by claiming "we are only human and will always sin" you are making a provision for the flesh
. It's much more honest to say "Jesus has made a perfect provision but I fail to walk in it because I am carnal and disobedient, have mercy on me Lord!"

Not at all :Broadly:

Apparently I am not good explaining my case on what Epi said, my first post in this thread.

In the video Epi states :

3 minutes, 12 seconds
it means to walk in holiness and a full victory over sin. So much so that people don't even believe it exists anymore.

I strongly disagree and this disagreement has been the base for the rest of my posts.

Do we have victory over sin, yes, but....PARTLY not total. And it's all because God's gift on Pentecost when born again people receive the indwelling Holy Spirit and He starts to rewrite our conscience, convincing us of sin (as Jesus said in John 16:8-9), without the Holy Spirit we are nothing, nothing of ourselves. And if we are obedient sin after sin will be done away, the process of sanctification.

I think @marks said it very well in this post

We (are ordered to) live by a clean conscience, it does not mean we are without sin.

I remember my babe time in Christ and the massive things I had to deal with as the Holy Spirit and the Word told me. At times a bloodbath. In the meantime (but of course in retrospect) my walk with all its unaware sins was in the Spirit and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1Joh 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Amazing Grace.

Pentecost was not about an indwelling Spirit. But power from heaven. You are WAY too blasé about what your read and equate your experience to be the penultimate thing...whereas you are just barely understanding the depth of the calling in Christ.

Pentecost was about POWER from heaven that fell ON them...not in them. You are a full realm away from understanding the book of Acts.

"And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."

Power ON people is by full immersion in the Spirit...being baptized...total immersion...in the Spirit. This is the victory. Power over sin and the world.

So this should be on your bucket list...so that before you leave the temporal world you should experience the grace of God in FULL measure and walk in victory over sin.

The bible states... IN HIM is no sin. What it doesn't say is in YOU is no sin.

People confuse having Christ in them with them being IN Christ.

1. Jesus is not PERSONALLY in a person...He is there in us the same way we have organs within us that we can't see...or like the way we carry a cellphone or a pager. The earnest of the Spirit gives us a template of Christ not a presence or power of Christ. For that we need to GO TO HIM. Jesus abides in Zion with the Father. We are called to join Him to be where He is. To be translated into the kingdom realm. We are to seek first the kingdom and abide in Him. We can be in contact with Jesus...even receiving messages and audible words at times...being LED by the Spirit. But even that...being LED by the Spirit... is not properly understood anymore.

2. People greatly exaggerate their connection to God. This is done through propaganda and being religiously conditioned by very human means. I speak in understatements here..and others speak in lofty overstatements. People saying they get words from the Lord, more often than not, is being confused with the Pavlov's dog effect of their religious conditioning. And of course everybody thinks it's the other person...since they don't believe in an actual connection to God. So everything gets dragged down to the level of people who overstate their case

3. If a person believes that abiding in Christ is the same as Jesus being in a person, it is because they have not yet been to where Jesus lives.

4. Full disclosure alert... If a person has never known a TOTAL victory over sin for an extended amount of time...it is because they have not known Christ or seen Him.

Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3

I have heard the experience described in different ways by different people over the years, so I wonder if we need to consider that we only know in part.

After His resurrection Jesus breathed on His disciples and said "receive ye the Holy Spirit".....but they still apparently didn't receive the baptism of the H.S. until Pentecost. So, what did they receive from Jesus before Pentecost and how did it differ from the baptism of the H.S.? And the apostles asked believers whether they had "received the Holy Spirit since they believed" and laid hands on them to receive the Holy Spirit..........there was no preparation or maturing or 'qualifying' or calling that was required for that apparently.

The context of John 15 where Jesus says ABIDE in Me, come from the previous chapter 14 (same teaching)...whereby Jesus says He goes to prepare a place...abiding places for His Beloved. These places are in the Father's house. Where is that? In Zion...in the heavenly realm.

Jesus tabernacles or VISITS WITH US in shalem (intimacy through visitation) but His abiding place is in Zion.

  • If Jesus was already in us personally...then how can people have visitations from Him....as if He was coming from another place?
Jesus abides with us through His words. We who have been regenerated by the Spirit have a general connection to Him....but not necessarily a personal one. How can Jesus say to SO MANY who minister in His name...go away, I never knew you!

These are the multitude of gospel ministers who have never been where Jesus lives. That's not a detail worth casting aside.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Col 1:13

Now people will religiously claim this verse to be true of them based on a religious name it claim it scheme.....the diabolical positional heresy... but being delivered from the power of darkness also means being delivered from sin in any form. Being translated into the kingdom means to abide in Christ who knew no sin. In Him is no sin.

Wow, it's as though you just trash the work of God in His people. Despising the day of small beginnings if that is what it is. The bible says we shall be like Him when we shall see Him as He is. It doesn't negate and trash as something worthless what He is doing in our lives until then. If we are maintaining a close two-way relationship with the Lord, in obedience, on the narrow path, bearing His chastisements, trials and tribs, and not wilfully sinning then we are abiding in Him, and learn to hear His voice and can see and experience His miracles. Signs do follow the preaching of the gospel. So many souls saved down through the generations by those you would call "lower level" believers who were and are laying their lives down for that purpose.

Now maybe John was particularly speaking about a deeper level of abiding, I don't know for sure. Or perhaps he was warning against a lifestyle of carelessness and sinning. He was the disciple who Jesus loved....it has always sounded to me as though he was further along than the others...so I assume his would have been a deeper abiding. He is the one who also wrote about perfect love casting out fear. But where is your love for the people of God?

And I wonder how long or how often does one need to be in the "higher walk" to be counted as a "saint" by Him?

You are unable to hear the truth in full resolution. The holiness standard is real...and all who claim to abide in Him will be judged by THAT standard. And you think it sounds harsh.

The easier standard is based om mercy. But the pride of being religiously conditioned makes you want to be part of the exclusive group that is in holiness.

So which do you want? What you can't do is claim to be in the holiness group and want to be judged based on mercy. The holiness group is based on GLORY.

So then I'm trying to reason with people who have been indoctrinated into a future failure...nevermind the present failure.
And I wonder how long or how often does one need to be in the "higher walk" to be counted as a "saint" by Him?
That's a good question. I think it is how we end up. How we FINISH the race. My hope is that I will finish the race in Zion. If not then there is still the "book of remembrance" for the upright and the devout. (The "precious stones" of the not quite saints)

Barring that, there is still the mercy of God on those who claim nothing for themselves...and are merciful towards others who are not like them.

Thankfully I'm not claiming anything for myself then.

But I do seem to be able to grasp some things by grace, such as that we need to have love for the brethren at any stage of their journey with the Lord, and not be respecters of persons based on whether they agree with us on everything or not, and also that we are to consider others more highly than ourselves. Or do those things only apply to those in a "lower walk"?

I thank God for the revelations He has given you and encourage you to continue to train yourserelf in hearing Him speak and He will give you guidance. Obey Him in all things He speaks to you about and wait for Him.

As for your question about the 'breathing on the disciples', I think it was that point of Illumination or Enlightenment that ecf's taught, the second stage, where they would be in one accord with each other as they waited for the Spirit baptism.

The western church has missed this part out generally, and often mistaken it for the 'second blessing' and brought holiness teaching into bad repute when they see those who say they are without sin are indeed still sinners, though unintentionally and it will show in their lack of love..

You have good discernment.

We are called to add in our own love into the mix. 2 Pet. 1...add to your faith...so yes, the lower walk of walking in our own capacity still requires a love of others...especially the brethren. But pretenders and liars need to be called out....for their sake and those who fall victim to their false teaching.

When we are not in the Spirit we are still to obey the commandments as we can...being honest about what we are doing. Humility is key. The righteous never claim to be righteous.

The dishonesty of those who claim a "positional" theology will culminate in a much harder judgment...likewise on those who teach false doctrine. God hates a lie. The fear of the Lord keeps us in our place.

Why are so many ministers rejected from the presence of God? Well, who told them to say that what they did was in God's name? A religious sub-culture? Regardless, we are not to esteem ourselves higher than we ought. A false prophet is one that declares things whereas he has seen nothing. These prophesy from their own imagination.

But the truth sets us free from such bondage...liberates us into God's love and mercy....and IF our sacrifice is accepted...into His glory.

No comment on the Scripture I posted, seems clear to me what holiness means in Scripture, not what you made of it, namely, and I quote from your video :

3 minutes, 12 seconds
it means to walk in holiness and a full victory over sin. So much so that people don't even believe it exists anymore.

Show me Scripture that confirms what you said -
  1. it means to walk in holiness and a full victory over sin.
  2. So much so that people don't even believe it exists anymore.
Nowhere in Scripture.
pro deo , oh pro deo . he talks about cleansing by the word
and YET DENIES THE VERY GOSPEL OF THE WORD .
Frankly i could care less how wise or unwise one sounds ,
IF THEY DENY the ABSOLUTE DIRE NEED TO BELEIVE ON JESUS, They preach another go spell that darn sure aint the gospel
of G OD and of CHRIST . Not to mention , as you did say , That man sure didnt seem to comment a bit on the SCRIPTURE
you did bring . What would you do if i told you he is no different than the jews who sought righteousness
NOT BY FAITH but by their own merits . OH HE IS . And frankly the man could talk all day about
holiness , rig hteousness and etc , BUT WHEN THE DIRE NEED TO BELEIVE ON JESUS got removed
IT WAS ALL OF IT IN VAIN and aLL IT DID WAS CALL G OD A LIAR . IMAGINE THAT .
how righteous is it to CALL GOD A LIAR . The man do as he do and he speak as he speak
and he makes m any vidoes . BUT IT IS ALL IN VAIN my friend . EVERY last bit of it , ALL IN V AIN .

How quickly folks can forget .
It would not matter if i came here speaking truth about holiness ,
IF I preached another gospel , WHAT WOULD IT PROFIT ME . NOTHNG SISTER .
NOT A TH ING . people seem so quickly to forget
WE GOT folks here LITERALLY calling the gospel DOGMATIC RELIGIOUS ZEAL .
THEY BELEIVE ITS NOT NECESSARY to EVEN HAVE TO BELIEVE ON JESUS THE CHRIST .
That right there means one thing .
THEY T RULY BELEIVE ITS OKAY TO CALL GOD A LIAR .
NOW how righteous , How holy IS THAT . HOW holy and how righteous
IS IT TO CALL GOD A LIAR . IT AINT . the man is lost sister . LOST .

Very kind words of encouragement .
But what i think hepzibah might not remember is
and what others often seem to forget is
WE GOT FOLKS HERE cliaming ITS FINE AND DANDY TO CALL GOD A LIAR .
ANYONE who believes as these inclusiviains believe DO call GOD A LIAR . they make VOID
His testimony that one had To BELEIVE . callng GOD a liar , wont bode well
for any on HIS DAY . And their works and their so called holiness and so called picking up crosses
and etc , OH IT AINT GONNA SAVE THEM . not by A LONG SHOT is it g onna save them .
Now visualize this next scenario . IMAGINE we are all standing before GOD , before THE LAMB
on JUDGMENT day .
And THERE HE IS for all to see . YOU REALLY THINK
HE GONNA TELL THEM , those who called GOD A LIAR , WHO beleived NOT ON HIM and h ad implied
it was not necessary , OH GOOD JOB , WELL DONE , YOU DID IT all ON YOUR OWN
YOU WERE SO RIGHT you DIDNT NEED ME . I DO NOT TH INK SO SISTER .
THE GOSPEL . THE GOSPEL IS UNDER ATTACK . and i do shudder in total terror for those WHO DO so .

You're welcome. Thought you needed it.
hepzibah i have a real simple question for you .
What do YOU b elieve GOD , CHRIST is gonna tell
those WHO called GOD a liar , and even went after those
who DID bring the gospel that darn sure DID say ONE had TO BELEIVE ON JESUS .
YOu really THINK they works and so called holiness talks , ri ghteousness talks
works are gonna SAVE THEM .
MAN cannot save himself . JESUS made that v ery clear .
LORD who then can Be sav ed . WITH MAN ITS IMPOSSIBLE .
BUT NOT wth GOD . AND How DID GOD ch oose to save the world .
By the preaching of the gospel to save those WHO BELIEVE .
WHO BELIEVE .
WHO BELEIVE
WHO BELEIVE .
WE got people here attacking this . IF this people is dumb enough
to THINK they can attain to the righteouness of GOD , WITHOUT FAITH in CHRIST
THEN they about LOST as lost can be .
ITS JESUS FOR ME . I can do nothing WITHOUT HIM . HE is the only righteousness i truly have
and the only means by which I COULD EVER be JUSTIFIED IN THE SIGHT OF GOD .
AND ITS by HIM that i even have the desires and abilities BY THE SPIRIT to ev en do the things pleasing to GOD .

Don't agree that we are being called to add in our own anything to the mix. We are called to submit to the righteousness of God in us, not establish our own righteousness. The context of that passage is partaking of the divine nature and speaks also of having those qualities IN us while showing a kind of trajectory of Christian growth. The last one listed is love/charity.....the more excellent way....being perfected in love I believe....not our own love, but manifesting the love of God that has been shed abroad in our hearts.

Not sure I quite agree with "positional theology"....I believe really it is more than positional, it is very real through Christ in us and the new man created in His image. However, as we know it doesn't end there, that is the beginning of the journey, the foundation, our starting point.

Sorry amigo I need things much clearer and straighforward. I am not sure what you are saying. Probably my autism.

That's a good question. I think it is how we end up. How we FINISH the race. My hope is that I will finish the race in Zion. If not then there is still the "book of remembrance" for the upright and the devout. (The "precious stones" of the not quite saints)
Just want to mention....the book of remembrance was for OT faithful ones before the cross.....that when Jesus died they would not be forgotten and left in their graves but would be "made perfect" with us....written in the book of life. There is no book of remembrance in the NT, only the book of life. NT believers after the cross don't need to be in the book of remembrance.

Mal 3:16
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Isa 49:15-16
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands
(alluding and looking ahead to the cross, that they are being included in it) ; your walls are ever before me.
