Here is a quote taken from his book Heaven: Close Encounters of the God Kind reviewed by Dena Dahl:Why don't you go ahead and share one of his quotes that is false....
That is false teaching. Paul writing to Timothy about the Old Testament (called "the holy Scriptures") said this: And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Tim 3:15). Paul was writing by divine inspiration, and went on to say that "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God..." (v. 16)Duplantis then says, “Have you ever noticed the word ‘gospel’ is only in the New Testament? That’s because gospel means ‘good news’ and there isn’t any good news in the Old Testament...
Therefore the Lord Jesus Christ said this about the Old Testament:
And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures...
(Luke 24:44,45)
That is also false teaching. See Hebrews 11....Before Christ died for us, it was ‘do or die.’...
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God...
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith...
We could go through the entire chapter and see that the OT saints were justified by grace through faith.
That too is false teaching. We can compare Isa 55:1-2 with Rev 22:17...The Old Testament only shows us the law that we cannot keep...
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
He believes that physical healing is in the Atonement, and therefore guaranteed to Christians. But that is simply not true. It is spiritual healing -- the healing of the soul -- that is in view in Isaiah 53....But Christ was bruised for our iniquities and by His stripes we are healed!...
...the chastisement of our peace was upon him...
...when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed...
...for he shall bear their iniquities...
and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors..
