Sorry Pearl but , that is just a typical of the faulty technique of taking a piece of scripture , cutting it out from the context it was written and gluing it in where it doesn't belong. No where is that scripture used to say GOD is always speaking out new prophecies. That scripture you used is followed by a warning - do not be carried away with strange teachings".

Hebrews 13:8 "8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings..."
They ALWAYS misuse Scripture which is a sign of a prophet alright, a false prophet.

Now hold on for just a minute, I've done nothing to "limit" God so no need to go down that road of false accusations.

I explained his immutability isn't bound to continuing prophecies which is true and shows you don't understand the immutability of God because you conflate things. What's really sad is you don't have enough biblical discernment or acumen to know when a prophecy is both needless and false. I don't need, hunger or thirst for something new, all in Christ never hunger or thirst again.
OK

There are no new prophets. Did the Apostles preach about new apostles coming and new prophets of God?? nope. If the ones in the Pentecostal church today are legit , why didn't the Apostles teach us about them?
What's sad is when people have itching ears and take the attitude that they want to hear people pretend they are God speaking instead of letting God speak to you in the depth of the scripture He GAVE US...
So how long did the prophets that Jesus gave last? And why should they have died out if the pastors, preachers and evangelists haven't. You see I do know that there are quite a lot of varieties of Christians on here all with different interpretations of the scriptures. I believe what I believe and you can believe what you believe but if we are both 'in Christ' then we are sister and brother so we must agree to differ.

"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13
As "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." 2 Hebrews 13:8 why would we think he has changed his mind. The bible prophecies may all have been fulfilled but the body of Christ, the Church, still needs to be built up. Perhaps that is part of its problem that men refuse to accept that they still need that prophecy. HAVE WE YET ATTAINED THE WHOLE MEASURE OF THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST?

Once again that technique is the same , to manipulate the scripture. Nowhere does it say there that apostles & prophets would continue forever. It was given us "to equip us for works of service....". It says "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers," It does not say Christ gave us this office of Apostles or Prophets for all time. The office of Apostles ended when the Apostles Jesus commissioned died. Other wise why would the scripture not have stated there will be more then just the the 12 and Apostle Paul who was also commissioned directly by the Lord Jesus in person? Would not Apostle Peter or Paul have taught it? The church did not have a lineage of prophets or apostles after the disciples & Paul were martyred.
That prophet false teaching & more demonic doctrines began with the heretical latter day rain revival movement within the Pentecostal church in 1950. Now people like Peter Wagner & his ilk continue to get rich by inventing more of these teachings.

It totally doesn't sound like God to me either. Sounds like an imposter.

In Acts 2:17-18 we read, "In the last days, God said, ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.'" Clearly, since the time of Christ we have been living in "the last days" and this gift is anything but gone.

Aren't we still meant to serve? This it's what's wrong with a big part of today's church, they refuse to accept the truth and are so entrenched in their wrong beliefs that can't see clearly. Read Acts 2:17-18.

They refuse to accept the truth of Scripture; 2 Timothy 4:1-5.

Perhaps you need to read the things I do about modern day prophets. Or maybe you would still disagree so forget it.

Well obviously it means nothing to you as it wasn't meant for you. o_O
It means something, it's false and is to be rejected. You really need to spend time in the word under a person grounded in sound doctrine. You take Scripture out of context, but I believe it's not on purpose but in ignorance.

Actually I do, I see it happening quite often, but you meant it as a slam, right?

Back up your accusation: Show me where I've misused Scripture.
I have already quoted Acts and Ephesians and these are not enough to convince you but that's ok cos only God can do that and I've played my small part.

I'd compare their false prophesies to Scripture and prove them needless and false, but you'd reject that. You're still thirsty and seeking. Jesus quenches that thirst forever.

Show me where I misused Scripture. I get the sense you're full of falsely accusing the brothers. Something is amiss with you big time. :(

I have been a Christian for a very, very long time but I am still hungry and thirsty for more of him and his truths.

You know nothing about me, it is all just supposition because you do not like what I say. Are you stern and unapproachable like your avatar? Perhaps you are a bit scary in real life.
