LOL It is!

I picked FluffyYellowDuck because duckies like THAT are adorable and make me gushy and at the time to sort of grey man myself.

(Grey man, for anyone who doesn't know, means to become like an invisible person, sort of blend in unnoticed.)
That is exactly what I gathered from your screen name.... just generic, nice, and maybe someone who likes baby ducks. lol
(See? Nothing too alarming. lol)

Oh, lol .... :)

Actually, I take that back...I don't think there is a "K".

I have a very large family though...

...of course I'm talking about extended family...

...oh yeah, there is a "K" in NY!

I'm just being silly, I know you're probably talking about your immediate household...ha...ha...

I see that this thread was started in the Testimony forum ...hmmmm a testimony to whom !! Not God for sure .
I guess we need to pray that whoever the member is someone with truth speaking into their life .

but on the other hand , maybe the clue is in the avatar name used...THE DARK Psalmist!
The nature is in the name....
@Helen, the avatar name was what first raised a red flag to me. Doesn't sound like light of Christ. Have not seen him on here since posting his "edit". Hmmm is right.

Haha, I need to learn but i will cheat and look up the chords and write it above the lyrics. haven't done it yet for Amazing Grace. I use the hymnal for the lyrics. hope you enjoy your class that sounds awesome!
Hi Fluffy,
I am a chord gal too, started to learn to read music at a young age but, had to stop the music classes because we had to have our own instruments and, my mom and dad didn't have two nickels to rub together. Same for dance class...I wanted that so bad but...instead I was sent to "charm school" HAHAHA! Me and a friend down the road went a couple times till they kicked us out for laughing too much :D.
What I do is find the songs I want, with lyrics AND chords, print them up and place them in my 3 ring binder with the plastic sheets on the pages. Now I have a big fat 3 ring binder full of fave songs and haven't picked it up in like a year. Oh Well, wasn't good anyhow :D

I did something similar with my piano music. Over the years I would buy a book here or there... or an old piece of sheet music mostly at second hand stores for my piano. Several years ago when my stuff in my study was overwhelming my space again, I sat down at my computer and spent days scanning the music I liked or wanted to learn into my computer. Some books I scanned the whole thing. [I thought about copyright rules, but I don't sell the stuff to anyone else. These days me and my wife are my only audience.] With it all done and tons of music with the words in the computer, I began printing pages I would use and placing them into two three ring binders for use at my piano.

The original books I mostly gave to other people who were interested. Anything left with only a couple of exceptions I gave to a second book store. One of my binders is for secular music and the other is gospel. Even though they are thick, they require very little space compared to all of the music books I once owned.

You are so organized John!! I and my dogs are my only audience, lol. Solely for my own entertainment.
Mine also has a section of Christian music, Christmas music and secular. All my favorites and, basic chords aren't too hard, some are tough as my hands are small and fingers do not reach some strings so...I fake it...we don't mind :D

When I was young I took piano lessons for many years from a former professional opera singer. She broke her voice on the job, but fell back on her music teaching a multitudes of children on a full time basis for income. I remember her well and her husband was an old barber who was by far the cheapest of the two barbers in our small town. When things were tight at home, our mother would send us to the old barber for haircuts. I would guess that eyesight was failing for he did not do a good job. But... he charged 50 cents a haircut when the other barber, a good Mormon man [as I saw it], was charging 85 cents. Of course my mother also did not like the Mormon barber because of his faith, so sometimes she sent us to the old fellow due to her own bias even though she did not like the result. She would break down and send us to the Mormon for special occasions when we really needed to look good...

I never went anyplace with my piano playing because while it was all in my mind I would never spend the long hours I should have practiced to build up my hands. I was always too busy with other things. As a side job over my lifetime I gave piano lessons to quite a number of people, but it was always a secondary thing with me. I never learned to play by ear on the piano although that is how I play my harmonicas. To this day I play the piano only by reading the music.

Now I have only an electronic keyboard as my piano was old and took a lot of space in my study. It needed work in addition to a tuning which would have been very expensive. I gave that piano away a couple of years ago to a young family with several aspiring young pianists. Hopefully some of them will do better by it than I ever did... My wife is usually off in her own world so doesn't listen to me much when I am playing. Usually I put on a headset so that I alone am able to hear me play. She often laughs at me at times because for some songs I will sing along with my own music rendering an unintended a capella effect.

Hi Helen! I wish at times for the old days when I was able to go out and do things. I also wish for the old days when Mike had one of his Internet forums and a bunch of us would participate online without much resistance or serious conflicts other than with Mike himself. I enjoyed Mike and liked him a lot in spite of being irked at times by some of his ways. I wish there was no one doing any worse than that these days...

Lol...I can only imagine :D When you can't hear yourself sing
Most on my mothers side of the family played the piano. My mom always dreamed of becoming a concert pianist but, had 7 over active kids! My Gram...her mom, played the organ in a Catholic Church for over 40 years. I used to hang with her up in the balcony. One of my uncles played the ivory so fast and furious I thought the keys would fly off the piano! Lol. I know middle C...that's it lol.
