Reading but Never Seeing: Why Scripture Remains Hidden to the Lost

I'm not sure the Found are doing much better, tbh

Ultimately, it's not a matter of who is right and who is wrong... (?)

Who is a Christian? Christians are followers of Christ; believers in what He taught. That seems rudimentary, but think about the church today. There seem to be many followers for Moses and Paul (they fightin), and not so many people that even know WHAT Jesus taught, let alone follow it.

    The Case for Eternal Security

I think God is always exactly in the same place, and it falls on us to go TO Him. The parable of the Prodigal Son frames it that way, and there's this... Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. (James 4:8)

    The Case for Eternal Security

I don't know about you, but I grew up in a church that taught that EVERYBODY deserved an eternity of damnation. "All have sinned" and all that. In retrospect, that doesn't seem like the healthiest worldview, whether it's true or not. Loving oneself seems to be a pre-requisite for loving...

    The Case for Eternal Security

I don't know that it's about hating God. There are people out there who hate themself. They would be happy to be condemned because they feel they deserve it.

    The Case for Eternal Security

I dunno - there are some people out there who really hate themselves.

Did Jesus tell the Pharisees that they were gods? - John 10:34

In Psalm 82, God is judging the local rulers because their administrations pervert justice. I believe Jesus is insinuating that the Pharisees - also local rulers - are attempting to pervert justice and will be subject to God's judgment. The very next verse: 6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all...

Why I hate the Bible... Or so they say?

Most people just follow their pastor, or their catechism. That isn't a problem; it's intended. But if you want to know for yourself, you have to study for yourself. "Study to show thyself approved." A body. Hands and feet to do work here in the world. "Now ye are the body of Christ, and...

Why I hate the Bible... Or so they say?

Not everything in every book is God's direct words. If a book says, "God delivered this message to me," then I take it as inspired. If it says, "here's a list of rulers over Israel that I got from a history book," then I don't. It's not actually complicated to figure out what is inspired...

    Can a tare become saved?

In the 2nd century BC, the Jewish king John Hyrcanus forcibly converted the Edomites (Idumeans) to Judaism. The Edomites embraced Judaism, and integrated themselves into Judea. The Herodian dynasty were Edomites and eventually replaced the Hasmoneans as the kings over Judah (at Caesar's...

    Can a tare become saved?

There's a problem with the question. You assume that people around the world today are either wheat or tares. The verses written in the 1st century applied to Israel/Edom at that time. History tells us the Edomites had merged into Israel. They self-identified as Israelites. But they weren't...

Why I hate the Bible... Or so they say?

The prophets were inspired. Sometimes they were edited/redacted after the fact, and the editors/redactors don't seem to have been inspired or inerrant. Oops. Some books aren't written by prophets. They aren't inspired and don't claim to be... except for one verse in 2nd Timothy that the...

Why I hate the Bible... Or so they say?

Sure, why not? If life is a test, the Bible is basically Jesus slipping us the answers beforehand. What a homie The misuse of the Bible looks very similar to the correct use of the Bible, and it can be hard to distinguish them. What I mean is... We see people quote the Bible out-of-context...

Israel will take back full control of Gaza and eliminate HAMAS. They will administrate all of GAZA, no independence

They would do well to enlist the aid and support of some of the other Arab nations around them, including the non-crazy component of the Palestinian government outside of Gaza.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Salvation and "saved" don't always refer to the same things, which muddies the waters. It is clearer to use other words. At conversion, we say a person is "saved," but it would be clearer to say they were regenerated, or resurrected (in the metaphorical sense). They are adopted as heirs...

The Bible Is Built on the Rock of Mathematics

The Bible is built on a Rock, all right. Mathematics is not His name.

14 IRRESOLVABLE CONTRADICTIONS WHICH RESULT FROM A LITERAL RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

Doesn't that imply that they did live again after the thousand years? And if so, then the original question remains - why resurrect someone just so that you can condemn them to die again? Unsure of all that. Revelation certainly seems to be figurative. But the New Testament makes 3...

Scofield Bible Damage and Atheist Arguments

Don't take this the wrong way, because I don't mean to be antagonistic to you. But... labeling what I wrote as "replacement theology" is a lazy argument. It doesn't actually address any of the arguments. It simply seeks to condemn everything through guilt-by-association. And if that's the...
