    The Gospel of Reconciliation

Correct. The death I referenced is the physical death or 1st death. Agreed. All men will be raised immortal and incorruptible. We will have a body that is the same as the Body of Christ had, still has, when He ascended to heaven. The only difference between those in heaven who will be...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

His death and resurrection made it possible for man to again have a relationship with God. Man believes, repents, is baptized and receives the Holy Spirit. There is two events depicted above. Two reconciliations. One Christ reconciling the world back to God. The other one who believes is...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

I cited the scriptural texts that supports what I stated. It is also historical fact of scriptural understanding. Agreed, that is what being born again accomplished. By baptism we recieve the Holy Spirit. It regenerates a spiritual relationship with God.

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

I believe I stated so. He defeated death and propitiated sin. The two things He needed to do. Heb 2:14-16 by becoming man and defeated Satan as well who held the power of death. Or you could cite Heb 2:9 and I John 2:2. which sums it up quite nicely.

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

It has been historical Truth since the Apostolic times. It was defended several times against false teachings over the centuries. Not a thing I have stated is my opinion. It is historical factual scriptural understanding of the Church from the beginning. Personal opinion has always led to...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

It may have been you earlier who stated this in one of your responses to me. I asked for a definition or how you are understanding "spiritual"? I have not gotten an answer yet, as far as I know. I may have missed it before.

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

And its been true since Adam. It will be true till He comes again when death will finally end.

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

Actually, it was an act of mercy that God permitted it. God did not make anyone dead, mortal. Death and sin are powers of the devil, not God. Heb 2:14-16. God already had a plan which was Christ coming as the incarnated ONE, so that by His own death He could restore life to our mortal natures.

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

When Adam sinned he not only broke the eternal relationship he had with God, but he suffered death, physical death, became mortal, dust to dust, Gen 3:19. This was an act of merch on God's sovereign will, that since death came through our nature, so the solutin to death would also come through...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

So, it was just a matter of being lifted up that matters? He did not need to die and rise again on the third day? How can you miss so much scripture? Again, read I Cor 15:12-19. If the dead are not raised then your faith is in vain. Why? because you are still in your sins and you will not be...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

So, you believe that Christ's death and resurrection was not necessary for your salvation? Where is that stated in scripture? I understand but do you? And where do you get this from what I stated? You must have been reading something else.

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

Are you referring to John 3:16-17 If so, it highlights what I have been saying. By His Incarnation, Christ came to save the world, Save the world from what?: Death, Heb 2:14-16, Heb 2:9. He saved the world, so that all those who believe might have eternal life with Him. If He did not save the...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

Could you explain to me why Christ needed to die physically and rise from the dead physically if it was not necessary. Why did He need to assume our human nature in other words to be Incarnated, become man. if it was not necessary. A spiritual death has no effect upon our human nature. We...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

I have no understanding of what you are saying. Jesus's death and resurrection had no direct effect upon being born again. That was the purpose of God restoring life to the world. That is not what scripture says. All men have the ability to respond to God. All men will be held accountable...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

He died both ways,. Spiritual first, broke the relationship. Second the world suffered death, physical death because of that sin.. Dust to Dust. Gen 3:19, It is reinforced in Rom 5:12, Rom 8:20-22. If Jesus did not come it would not matter what you did. You would simply die as animals do. Dust...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

Because Paul says so in Rom 3:26-28; Rom 5:1; Eph 2:8, 15; Acts 3:16 and many others We know it because it was proclaimed in scripture. We, by faith believe, and hope for the resurrection in the last day. It has nothing to do with the topic, except that is why Christ needed to reconcile the...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

Even though you are not responding to me, I feel I should answer this post anyway. The scripture is Gen 3:19, Rom 5:12, Rom 8:20-22 No, there would be no eternity. That death, the consequence of Adam's sin was dust to dust, Gen 3:19. That was permanent death, non-existence of His whole...

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

That is your choice. You apparently do not understand the topic which is why you cannot stay on topic.
  19. R

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

God does the regeneration, but man chooses for God to do so. However, this is not what the topic is about.
  20. R

    The Gospel of Reconciliation

I do read them otherwise I would not have known it was not relevant to the topic which was the reconciliation by Christ. We can discuss a believers relationship with Christ in other post and topics. But it is not germaine here.
