Jesus is the way, but how many ways are there to Jesus?

So you believe that not keeping the Sabbath is a sin today? It seems to me that those who observed that Jesus wasn't a Sabbath-keeper had good evidence. When He was accused He never denied it. In fact He implicated Himself. Matthew 12:3 NIV He answered, “Haven’t you read what David did...

Jesus is the way, but how many ways are there to Jesus?

    Was Jesus known as a Sabbath-keeper? [

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

I doubt that he has ever read it. Cover to cover, I mean. As I have and probably you as well. ]

Who ARE "the prophets" in Ephesians 2:20?

My apologies in advance. This will take some doing to establish what the Bible says about this. I have broken it down into several posts. I hope that makes it easier to deal with. PLEASE RETURN TO THE O.P. IN POST # ONE - Thanks. Thanks to anyone who is able to work through this and/or...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

I would say "necessary", but not "permissible". What God has put together, let no man put asunder. The "permissible" aspect has created victims and tragic pain and suffering. [

Leaving Room for Faith - why we don't know EVERYTHING

At one time I was bothered by the fact that we don't really have ALL the answers. There was always a loose end somewhere. I chased the apologetics in every direction, but always came up short somewhere. And frankly, I don't remember the specifics, only the moment of my release from the tyranny...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

So you are claiming that Jesus approved of divorce? Matthew 19:8 NIV Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. [

A Word for the church (four actually) concerning worship.

My wife shared a point from her devotional reading. "You praise until the spirit of worship comes, you worship until the glory comes, then you stand in the glory." - Ruth Ward Heflin - Praise - Worship - Glory - Stand What it means to me. Praise is the obedient action that we use to enter...

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

St. SteVen said: Chapter and verse please, thanks. As usual, you are incapable of supporting your claims with scripture. You can't prove that "those who reject the Christian Bible are heading for Hell fire". In fact, there is nothing in the scriptures about "the Christian...

"Is excessive interpretation the root cause of differences in understanding and doctrinal divisions in the Bible?"

Agree. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 NIV My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. [

The view of the "Gentleman God" who honors human will above His own.

I don't mean in every situation, but as it relates to salvation. Jesus taught us to love our enemies. What should he do with His own? [

Where did the Bible come from? - Shot out of a canon

Those who don't believe in divine revelation today usually claim that we have a "closed canon". Therefore no further revelation is available. How tragic. [

Was the Transfiguration a vision, or an actual appearance of Moses and Elijah?

Where does the Bible say that? Denominations didn't emerge until after the Protestant Reformation. And I don't think denominations are the cause of division. [

Was the Transfiguration a vision, or an actual appearance of Moses and Elijah?

Anyone who identifies their group as the one who should set the standard is to be questioned. How convenient that one group should declare that it is their way that is the path to unity. There is no consensus. I think the only way unity can be achieved is when we accept each others differences...

Was the Transfiguration a vision, or an actual appearance of Moses and Elijah?

Again, "the few" indicates that vast majority, though they try, do not succeed. "Few there be that find it." The interpretation that this is in reference to salvation really bothers me. It sets up a situation where God is making sport with human souls in a high-stakes game of hide-and-seek...
