The Bible is Father-Centric not Christo-Centric

Basic history. Nicene Christianity came on the scene a few centuries later. Again, basic history. The doctrine was created by the church in post-biblical times. What he understood is that when he saw and heard the lord Jesus Messiah (Psalm 110:1) he saw and heard his God (Yahweh) in him...

I appreciate that you took the time to let me know. I’m talking about church history.

The Bible is Father-Centric not Christo-Centric

History shows us that it isn’t. An example will help illustrate the point: trinitarianism (“Jesus is God”) and modalism (“Jesus is God”) are like oil and water. The trinitarian creeds affirm the former and anathematize the latter.

The Bible is Father-Centric not Christo-Centric

It’s how someone recognizes that Jesus was / is God that I have an issue with. Of course the Board policy stands. As someone who is registered “Christian” you aren’t allowed to express disagreement with the doctrine of the Trinity. As someone who is registered “Other Faith” I am allowed to...

The Bible is Father-Centric not Christo-Centric

He doesn’t say what the creeds of the trinitarians say. Cursed for not affirming the doctrine of the Trinity? That’s the 4th century church, not God.

The Bible is Father-Centric not Christo-Centric

You asked me about it. The topic of the thread is stated in the OP. I don’t believe Jesus is God in the same way that you believe Jesus is God. See above. I’m registered “Other Faith”. I’m a Jewish monotheist, not a trinitarian.

The Bible is Father-Centric not Christo-Centric

I wouldn’t go that far, and I don’t anathematize anyone.

The Bible is Father-Centric not Christo-Centric

Not at all. The topic we were discussing was specifically anathematizing. Are you afraid of the trinitarians? The binitarians? The unitarians? Me, a Jewish monotheist? Off topic? No. You’d prefer not to say? That’s fine.

    What are we doing here?

From the perspective of Jewish monotheism, yes. But readers must understand that means I believe Jesus is functionally God, not literally God. He is the Son of God.
  15. Matthias

    What are we doing here?

I believe Jesus is divine because he is the incarnation of the Father’s logos. Friend of scripture or enemy of scripture?
