Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

Or so it would seem. Interesting that our sanity might even be tied to something false as opposed to true.

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

Scripture is full of places, from "Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” Exodus 17:14 to "I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me...

The 12 Tribes of Israel - where are they today?

    Every word from God.

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

We're getting off track. Surely, hearing God's voice firsthand is best...but He has said, "Write it in a book."

The 12 Tribes of Israel - where are they today?

My mention of "Which is greater?" was not to shift attention to the Temple. Not at all. But rather to establish a reason for looking at any word of scripture (in this case, the falling away) in its greater purpose. The alternative, is to set our sights low and miss the bigger picture and greater...

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

Because of what the world actually is. That it is not an appendage or add-on to the kingdom of God, but rather limited to the specific purpose of salvation by "image." In other words, everything everyone ever believed made manifest before the judgement. Then comes the end. And because the "here...

The 12 Tribes of Israel - where are they today?

Yes, it is obvious that Paul was being specific with the Thessalonians, which of course is the immediate record given. However, God's greater eternal purpose would understandably be much more broad within the halls of eternity. Indeed, Paul and the Thessalonians have participated in a great gift...

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

"A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). The word of God is not actually the providence of men, but of God alone.

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

Given the historic precedent set by Israel who crucified Christ--there is a very limited answer to that.

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

I have been beating around the bush. I mean, "strong delusion" and "great apostacy" infecting the church with "destructive doctrines" by "false teacher" beginning during the early days of the church--if true (and it is)--means the general state of the church at this current time is no better...

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

That is a fair assessment, and does get to the heart of what I had hoped to address. My hope was to plant the seed needed to grow out of our now age-old habit of speculating, and transition "believing" to "knowing." Which will not come without taking to heart the warnings and what is foretold of...

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

It is written, that "that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written" regarding Jesus the Word (John 21:25). Which in summary, not to mention the many great details, could be defined as: The truth from God.

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

By the immediate needs arising during Paul's time (engineered by God no doubt), he gave a word that God has seen fit to include in His own eternal word, saying "women should keep silent in church." Which if from Paul alone would have died with the traditions of his day. But if from God, has...

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

I suppose the gospel is at the heart of this topic, but I was actually hoping to focus on the great error and people's tenancy to pit one assumed gospel against another based on their own opinion and understanding--rather than simply believing it as stated, and being silent except to repeat it...

Why does everyone seem to need to come up with their own belief and doctrinal formula?

That's not biblical. It is hard to image how this most common of positions even comes about. Do people really hear or read a little gospel, then assume they are to fill in the blanks according to their own understanding and conjecture? Obviously, MANY do. And it just gets worse from there...

You're dishonestly not reading my answer.

The Day of the LORD (YHWH) is the Second Coming of Christ.

Yes, God is ultimately not mad. Even so, wrath in this world is from beginning to end to the condemnation of all born of women.

The Day of the LORD (YHWH) is the Second Coming of Christ.

Yes, and yet the error (or lie as Paul put it) that has been believed, is that "each one in his own order" individually in their own time--is not in his own order, but in one mass event. The future mass event doctrine has been that lie.

    PERSON-TATION

The point is, God over time, has revealed Himself in three ways, and yet is One.
