Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

The verse says seek and save, not make savable. You can deny it and hate it all you want, but I'm sorry there is no 2 ways around it; Christ will seek and actually save, not make savable.

    The Five Points of Calvinism

Yes. Justice is whatever God says that it is. He is the author of the entire universe, and therefore anything that is just is what God claims to be just; or more specifically things that reflect His character.

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

Precisely. What you have just described is what is call Semi-Pelagianism. This is what Dave was saying and I am affirming is indeed heresy. So what you are saying is that Christ really didn't come to "Seek and save that which was lost", but rather came to "Seek and make savable", and that His...

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

Pelagianism Briefly Defined: "According to Pelagius, every infant comes into the world in the same condition as Adam was before the Fall. His leading principle was that man's will is absolutely free. Hence, everyone has the power, withing himself, to believe the Gospel, as well as to keep the...

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

And yet look at Adam and Eve. They were literally told that they would die if they disobeyed and yet the did it anyways. Sorry, but this is the real 'will' of man; it is in no sense free, but is enslaved to Satan and will do his bidding regardless of the consequences.

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

1.) This is just not true. NO SINNER can believe on Him! Not a single one! Not unless Christ first chooses to open their eyes and hearts to the Gospel and to transform their hearts. 2.) Notice how you had to add the whole "All men" at the end, and why? Because what you are reflecting onto the...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

1.) Yes. Absolutely. He did create us from nothing and continues to sustain each of us all the time, so yes. 2.) Justice would be any treatment or behavior that is in line with how God would treat and behave. I would say that God Himself is the perfect picture of Justice. So, for example, an...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

Not a problem at all. If you wish for me to elaborate, or have any questions I am more than happy to provide any and all answers I can.

    Amen brother.... Amen.

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

I fear that the reason so many cling to Arminius is because we have this misconception that the Scriptures are all about how I can be saved, when the real purpose of the Scriptures and conversion is to bring glory to God!

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

Now THIS is truth! The Spirit operates sometimes without us even knowing! And the greatest part about the whole process is that is gives God 100% of the glory; I could not have chosen Him had He not chosen me! Thank you!

    The Five Points of Calvinism

1.) World. The word is Cosmos. This means his creation. Believe it or not the entirety of Scripture is not just about man. 2.)... yep. Yes He did. Before you lash out, answer this: Give me one reason why God cannot do this with His own creation?

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

This makes no sense. Why are you using clay and butter as your example then? Human hearts cannot change what they are; deprived, sin-filled hearts that cannot please God. We as fallen men cannot please God. It is impossible. Let me give you an example that actually works. I have always loved...

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

Hi! To start, I would like to say that I may have made my meaning a bit unclear, and for that I apologize. I do believe that God cursed the earth, and see the above mentioned curses upon the land as a part of the same curse. However, I believe that the cause of this curse is man's sin. The...

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

I do not believe that God cursed creation. Man's sin cursed creation. Creation experiences death, and that death came into existence because of man's sin. Scripture is not about man [in the sense that he is the central element of them] . Salvation is not about man. As humans, we all have a...

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

That he reconciled his creation to himself; the whole of the cosmos is reconciled and will one day be set free from the curse man has put upon it.
  17. Mjh29

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

Yes he did. The cosmos. His creation cries out in pain against the sins of man that causes it to suffer and decay and die, and He has promised that one day there will be restoration.

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

This also leaves the power of salvation in man's hand rather that God's. If Christ's blood is only effective if we make it so, then we have put ourselves on-par with him in terms of contribution to our salvation; Our correct choice becomes every bit as important as His precious blood, and this...

Why John 6:37 is grossly misunderstood and misapplied

1.) This does not answer my question 2.) I will provide the verses - John 6:35-40 - John 10:11, 14-18 - John 10: 24-29 Christ died for his flock, the members of which he knew. He died knowing all for whom he died.
