Is having Faith in the gospel considered a "work"?

I admit I probably should have phrased what I intended to say a lot better than I did but I was in a hurry. Sorry.

Is having Faith in the gospel considered a "work"?

You need to read the entire statement I made, @Preacher4Truth, instead of taking it out of context. This is literally your post #266 in the other thread You position is that any decision for Christ on our part would constitute works-based salvation. I've already shown how that's wrong.

Yes. What are you getting at with it?

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

When I was called to come to Christ, the option to ignore that call and go back to drinking the next day was still there. The concept of resisting the Holy Spirit is entirely biblical, the I in TULIP is not. Acts of the Apostles 7:51

What is the purpose of posting this particular scripture?

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

No, there is no glorifying man for making a decision. Rather, God is glorified althemore by a creation endowed with the ability to acknowledge or resist His glory, freely. Love toward the creator on part of the creature is not something that can be forced, lest it be not Love at all. The...

This website can explain it better than I ever could www.gotquestions.org/amp/monergism-vs-synergism.html

Is having Faith in the gospel considered a "work"?

...is it not literally the same thing? What's the difference between believing in Jesus and believing in the Gospel?

I didn't intend to come off that drastic. I think it's just a Monergism vs. Synergism debate.

Is having Faith in the gospel considered a "work"?

Yes. Putting Faith in gospel is just another way of saying one believes in God and His Son imo

Is having Faith in the gospel considered a "work"?

I've been having a discussion with certain Calvinists lately who claim that holding Faith in the gospel should be considered a work of man, thus Total Depravity is established and Arminianism must be false, for if one chooses to obey the gospel it then becomes works-based salvation (which both...

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

All who come to faith in Christ have their sins forgiven. All who reject the gospel obviously will not have their sins forgiven. Christ's sacrifice is more than enough to pay for the sins of all who come to Him. John 8:24 The only reason I posted Eze 3:18 was to give an example of a servant...

You're going to need to rephrase this.

@Preacher4Truth Again, I'm going to have to ask that you edit your reply in post #243 so that it's more readable. Bbl

@Preacher4Truth I think you wrapped your response into the quote you took of me. I'll happily look at it when you edit. Atm it's kinda confusing to read and I gotta concentrate atm. Bbl

Forgive me, but I'm not going to claim I hold the answer to this ancient question. In a sense we are held responsible as it is our duty to preach the gospel. Ezekiel 3:18

Of it's not, then you're arguing against God's omnipotence. Since sufficient scripture exists to establish the fact that God does desire ALL to be saved, the only logical answer as to why not all come to the cross to be saved must be attributed to a human failing; failure to obey and believe on...
