    The Age of God’s Grace

Jesus is the door, but he's also the way... We must enter by the door and continue on the way which leads to the New Jerusalem... Otherwise we have entered into life, but we are a shame, unclothed, and only good to be tied hand and foot and thrown into outer darkness.

    When Jesus says...

Did Jesus tell the rich young ruler "I will leave everything I have and come and save you" or does he tell him 'YOU come and follow me'? The focus IS on the YOU, because God will hold his end, but you must hold yours. There is no question as to whether God will give himself to save us, but the...

    When Jesus says...

Having him in you is having the seed.... The question is do we overcome and attain, and actually walk by the new nature, Christ in us... If you have a car, a great car, but you don't use it as it should be, to give God glory, but you just leave it parked in your parking lot and show it off...

    When Jesus says...

Before the resurrection, those who wished to be disciples left everything to follow Jesus... After, they left everything to be with one another, follow him in the Spirit, and to have him among them in the Spirit. And THAT is the church. It is what we are called to if we wish to be disciples of...

    When Jesus says...

Ye are complete in him implies that you've left you're old life behind to be found in him! God gives freely to those who truly desire it... Thus leaving all to follow him. Do they have anything to pay him with? No. They have nothing! Thus they receive freely... But not apart from a willingness...

    When Jesus says...

Can we have the treasure in heaven without laying our riches there? Can we have the heavenly kingdom without leaving behind what we have on this earth?

    When Jesus says...

So does that mean we can get the same benefits the disciples did without the cost they had to pay?

    When Jesus says...

Luke 14 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. What do you think?

Is sin of the devil or not?

That is the law (at work in our bodies) of sin and death, where sin is inevitable, and death what all reap as a consequence. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Through Christ, we can walk in the Spirit and be free from this. We...

How are we saved from sin?

Number 1! God is mighty to save... He doesn't need a scheme whereby he can justify us without changing us as though he himself were somehow powerless to do so! What we must ultimately find out is who we end up being in the story of the 12 spies, or David and Goliath. Are we the unbelieving...

    Coping with unsaved loved ones.

Well said! :) I think the very fact we say 'the unsaved' shows that we think salvation is somehow owned. We are saved, they are unsaved. But salvation is God's! We are to be obedient and faithful servants and leave matters of eternal judgment to him.

    The 'anti-gospel'

I would add this. I understand Paul to be saying no one is saved (1) by the works of the mosaic law, ie circumcision, and also (2) the law of sin and death, the old nature. But the law of the spirit and life is salvific, in that he who sows to the spirit reaps life. We are to do works... The...

    The 'anti-gospel'

Sure :) I would say the difference is like this... If you trust what Christ did, you are trusting in his power. What Christ did is give us a new beginning AND give us the power to do it right this time... To please him. If one decides to take the first, forgiveness (which allows the new...

True liberty can come only in Christ

There was a lack of humility in my post, and I am sorry for that. What I am trying to get across is that we must have faith in the power of God... That we can indeed overcome and be as he is! :) Blessings to you all!

    The Age of God’s Grace

I see! :) Grab a hold of zeal, but do not let go of humility. Get knowledge, but do not lose wisdom. Thanks for the guidance, guys!

    General Penetecostal Doctrine

I like the understanding of Holiness. :) I find it denotes faith in the power of grace in man! I understand the baptism of fire to be the baptism of testing... The refining fire. Lord bless you, Ian!

    The Age of God’s Grace

I'm sorry about my attitude. I'm very zealous and I wish to arrive at biblical truth... ...And I get carried away. I realize this is not right. I'm sorry to you and all I might have offended. I'm gonna take a step back and think on all this.

    The Age of God’s Grace

??? So you don't want to answer??? Believe and repent is indeed that beginning of the walk... A walk where we follow Jesus! A disciple gets no reward for beginning to follow Jesus and then giving up... The word tells us that if we do not bear fruit we will be cut off. To deny this is...

    The Age of God’s Grace

So no explanations for scriptures like 'he who says he abides in him ought to walk just as he walked"? "He who is born of God CANNOT sin"? Do you just brush that off?
