    Imputed righteousness;

Same mistake again. You see salvation as this one time event, 'got my ticket punched'! Doing the works of the Father cannot come apart from being brought into the race, which happens at repentance. This is the beginning of salvation. We are now in Christ, then we must abide. We ARE the ones...

Hath God cast away his people

 I have clearly said I believe us to be one in Christ, and yes, if we follow Christ, by this he will bring them to jealousy that they would be ONE with us. But according to my understanding of what you said, you are dividing according to the flesh, saying God has a different purpose for...

    Faith..in what

I think of it somewhat the same way. :) I see belief as something that brings us together according to our head knowledge, and also divides us according to head knowledge, thus creating denominations according to doctrine. I see faith as something that brings us together according to the...

    SELF-DENIAL-mjs

There are used this way because it is what they represent. :) They fit the comparison because it is what they are! Does Christ have more than one people, more than one bride, or a people, and then a bride, who are not the same? Of course not. Those who are the servants of God are... The...

    Are we Christians or Jews?

Actually, it does. What you say is not in agreement with Paul. Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. Does this make for a 'name it claim it' theology? Only to those who...

    Tips to recognize gnosticism

All this is according to your own understanding and your own sayings. But I have seen what you say, that we are justified apart from obedience and from following, and that those who love the Lord need not depart from iniquity. I have heard your gospel, that it is not about walking in the power...

The depravity of men (and to what degree it goes)

Ok. And what would that Reformation of the Reformation result in? :) Spiritual revival I hope! ;)

The depravity of men (and to what degree it goes)

Man can always choose the good. I have two pieces of bread, my neighbor is dying of hunger, my needs are met, and I am safe, he is not... Ok, I'll share! We ARE known by our fruit, brother. :) But in Christ we can not only choose the good, but the perfect! It is made available to us to choose...

The depravity of men (and to what degree it goes)

We wish to see the catholic church 'reformed'? That is like shuffling a deck of cards. The cards are still the same! In Christ it is not reformation (which could end up in deformation), but transformation. The catholics sold salvation, so we make it free. Instead of realizing WE give freely...

    The Idea of Two Gospels

Because the promises were to Israel, and being a man, he thought as a man, thus he thought the promises were still to Israel. Quite obvious. As Paul says, we are made partakers of the same promises, those given to Abraham's seed, Christ. Not some other promises of eternal life apart...

The depravity of men (and to what degree it goes)

Yes, and yet they chose wrong. They were given all that is necessary, but still enabled to choose. Lucifer and Michael were both created good, one fell, one didn't. In other words, we all have the capability of choosing to be faithful or unfaithful. In that sense, I see men as blank sheets.

    Homosexuality

Good post! There are also different levels of attaining, as Paul says in Philippians 3. If we are faithful at the level we have attained, we will receive the appropriate reward. The more time God gives us, and the more grace he gives us, and the more blessings, the further we are expected to...

Man is a blank sheet, capable of choosing to be just, or to be wicked. He cannot be perfect...

Man is a blank sheet, capable of choosing to be just, or to be wicked. He cannot be perfect because of his sin nature, but he can be righteous. Now in Christ, a higher level of righteousness is available, as the old nature can truly be put to death, and he can walk by the new nature, Christ.

The depravity of men (and to what degree it goes)

I don't see us as good with a tendency to sin. Rather I see us as a blank sheet, with potential to be loving OR wicked, in both cases being plagued by a sin nature. :) The sin nature, we did not choose, but were born in it. Then, we can either call it as it is, and as the publican, see the evil...

    Homosexuality

Does that bother you? Matthew 16:25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. The idea of being 'really saved' is once again based on the false premise that we somehow are or aren't. Being 'saved' cannot be a status. I was...

    Homosexuality

You don't own salvation to start with! Christ himself is salvation... The idea of 'losing your salvation' is already built on the false premise that we 'own salvation'. It is not us who accept Christ, but Christ who accepts us, if we are faithful servants. The gift is the grace, freely given...

    Homosexuality

9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be...

    SELF-DENIAL-mjs

Amen! :) When we receive more, it is because God also is giving us more responsibility! Rather than seeing the unfairness, we should see this person is held to a higher standard. ('Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel') If we have greater empowerment it is only for God to receive glory! For...

The depravity of men (and to what degree it goes)

The error lies here: Man is depraved because of his fallen nature to this point: he cannot be righteous as God, holy as God, and perfect by his own nature. Man is not depraved to this point: he cannot seek God, he cannot be righteous like the publican or Samaritan. Man can be righteous as the...

    Sanctification on the grand scale

Just a thought I had... :) We know that God is a refining fire, and that he is refining his people. It says he is preparing a bride, his people, without spot and wrinkle. My thought is this; the whole process, from Adam and Eve, to Abraham, to Christ, and to us, is exactly this! God started...
