Is knowing what death is a comfort?

Soul sleep is unbiblical, Robert, plain and simple.

Is knowing what death is a comfort?

Not sure what you mean by "how is Moses living?"

    Legalism in religion

You know, BH, concerning continuing in the Word. There are so many grey areas in Scripture that must be explained by other Scripture and then other Scripture that we all get separated down the line. Scripture explaining Scripture is the general rule for determining doctrine, but when one...

Is knowing what death is a comfort?

They don't understand the New Covenant. That is why they are still caught up in works. Every other thread posted on these boards should be teachings of the New Covenant as revealed by the the only one who could fully reveal it, the apostle Paul. Knowledge of the New Covenant will show the...

    Legalism in religion

Great post, amigo de christo! I have calmed down quite a bit in my older years. I have learned that only the Holy Spirit can break the barriers that Satan has placed. But I still from time to time lose my cool, so to speak. Then become ashamed of myself and ask the Lord to forgive me. Brother...

Is knowing what death is a comfort?

The resurrection as Paul described it in 1st and 2nd Thes. is the full payment of our salvation, as Paul told us that the Holy Spirit is the down-payment on our salvation in this life upon faith in Christ. When we reach the resurrection we have been fully purchased by God through our Lord Jesus...

    Legalism in religion

That is above my pay grade, BH. It's not for me to determine who is a son and who is not. It's my responsibility to keep the faith and not become illegitimate. I know from experience that the spankings from the Lord are present with His sons. There will be no doubt, you will know where it...

Is knowing what death is a comfort?

The JW's are one of the major teachers of soul sleep, as you can see from the words of Christ this is unbiblical. They misunderstand Solomon when he says, "the dead know nothing." They don't realize that he is speaking of earthy involvement. The dead whether saved or unsaved know nothing...

    Legalism in religion

No, it's not ok. Those who drift that way, as most of us will at times, will be treated as a son. And what son that belongs to God will go without chastising, unless he be illegitimate?

Is knowing what death is a comfort?

Mark 12:26-27 "And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err."

Ok, we don't see eye to eye, and that's ok too! See you on the boards.

    Legalism in religion

I see we have made a 360 right back to legalism! Eph. 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," This is how we are saved, no legalities, no stings...

    Legalism in religion

The washing away of sins by the Blood of Christ took place the very moment Paul believed on Christ on the road to Damascus. Three days later Paul was water baptized symbolizing those sins being washed way, and His new faith in Christ.

    Legalism in religion

Yes, I said Paul was baptized 3 days later after he was saved by surrendering to and believing in Christ on the road to Damascus. Now he will be water baptized publicly confessing Christ as his Saviour. The water baptism representing what took place in his heart on the road to Damascus. Surly...

    Legalism in religion

Ananias told Paul to go and be baptized, washing away his sins, calling on the name of the Lord, as the confession of his faith. Paul was saved on the road to Damascus when He said, Lord, what will you have me do. He was water baptized 3 days later, publicly confessing the name of the Lord...

    Legalism in religion

Do you remember Paul saying that we have become a new creature in Christ? This is what he is referring to. The "operation of God" whereby we are baptized (immersed) into the death of Christ, not immersed in water! Salvation does not take place in water! And immersion is not always in water...

    Legalism in religion

NO, afraid not! Col. 2:11-12 "In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who...

    Legalism in religion

The "figure" is a symbol. The "like figure" is the symbol of water baptism saving us! We are saved by spiritually being baptized into the death of Christ, Rom. 6:3. Water baptism is the "like figure" or symbol of this spiritual salvation.

    Legalism in religion

Read it again, Titus! Does it not say "The like figure" whereas even baptism does also now save us? What do you suppose "the like figure" means?

It was nice to meet you, Titus! Wish it could have been better circumstances. May the Lord bless you in His truth! There is no greater blessing than that!
