    Legalism in religion

Two completely different animals! Paul, and all the rest of us make it possible for the Gospel to be heard, they in no way take a part of the actual salvation as one does when baptizing to be saved.

    Legalism in religion

If you make water baptism a requirement for salvation, then the person who baptized you can claim they made your salvation possible. That is not Grace, and it cannot ever be Grace!

    Legalism in religion

It's a matter of where your faith is placed. My faith for salvation is 100% in the finished work of Christ on the Cross and His resurrection. My water baptism is confessing the name of Christ as the source of my salvation. Water baptism is in no way is the source of my salvation, but the...

    Legalism in religion

Water baptism for salvation is an act of works. You are depending on another to conduct a ceremony for your salvation. You can't be saved without that person performing that ceremony on your behalf. That is a salvation of works, plain and simple. You are obeying Christ through works, not of faith.

    Legalism in religion

All of the commandments of Christ have to be taken in faith. Meaning that the flesh profits nothing, the doing of man accomplishes nothing for salvation. I believe that Christ commands to be water baptized, but not to be saved, it is our confession that we have already been saved by Grace...

    Legalism in religion

Sorry Titus, but if you make water baptism a requirement for salvation, your faith has turned to the works of another man to carry out that commandment for your salvation. That is salvation by works, and as Paul said, it is no longer Grace.

    Legalism in religion

The reason you are water baptized will determine legalism. Are you depending on another man to perform a ceremony on your behalf to complete your salvation? If you are, that is legalism.

Paul's Appeal To Have The Knowledge Of Christ

I think if our focus were in line with His focus, which is the Cross of Christ, we would all be more pleasing in His sight. Easier said than done on these boards.

What is the point of a forum if you cannot speak?

In other words, you are refusing to be a part of the solution!

What is the point of a forum if you cannot speak?

OK! If this carries over to other subjects, some will leave, and some will become emboldened. You guys have the ball, I guess we will see what you do with it!

What is the point of a forum if you cannot speak?

The Deity thing is no problem for me as long as the slander of Christ has halted. I see no reason for you to desire to further slander knowing that we will not accept it! Why must you and others insist on continuing this slander? Why can't you be a part of the solution instead demanding the...

    Help with John 1:12-13

Let's take a look at John 1:13 in the KJV. It will come together better I think. " Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." This verse is the explanation of the the previous verse (12) It's explaining how we become the "children of God."...

What is the point of a forum if you cannot speak?

It seems the cease fire has calmed down things, for now anyway. What do you propose should be done to keep things in order? That is if you have recognized that things had become out of order?

The Problems of Perpetual Belief Alone Salvation-ism.

This may be a first, BH, but I agree. The veil in the temple was split into at the death of Christ, The debt was paid, the separation between God and man was over. The New Covenant began.

What is the point of a forum if you cannot speak?

Unlike many sites, the Mods here are neutral, as they should be. Post after post on the same subject leaves little to the imagination as to the intent. Some just can't let it go, they have to force their opinions on others with repeated attempts. Nothing wrong with stating your beliefs and...

What is the point of a forum if you cannot speak?

There is a difference in justification and sanctification, Robert. We are justified by faith, period! Sanctification is not part of salvation, it is the result of salvation. Paul plainly teaches that we are justified by faith, not of works, on this we agree. But some want to make the...

What is the point of a forum if you cannot speak?

Why should there be any bait to begin with? I can understand being zealous for the Lord, and there is a fine line that we need to be aware of.
