“The Law of the Spirit of Life”

The Old Covenant (the Law of Moses or Pentateuch) was "taken away" in order to set up the New Covenant in Christ and His Gospel: He taketh away the first (OT), that He may establish the second (NT); Heb 10:9. "For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought...

“The Law of the Spirit of Life”

Christian living goes far beyond just the Decalogue, to all that Christ commands and His apostles teach. "one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled" (Luk 21:32). When Christ fulfilled the Law it passed away!

    Christian Tithe?

True, it also involved their flocks and harvest.

“The Law of the Spirit of Life”

The law tells you what to do, but it can't give you the power to do it. Jesus tells you what to do, and he gives you the power to do it. The Law was still in effect until Jesus' ascension, and therefore Christ was instructing them. Many of the Jews did not realize the cessation of the law until...

“The Law of the Spirit of Life”

Law in general means the "will" of God, e.g. Christ commandments are not the part of the Law, like He says to love one another the way He loves us (Jhn 15:12), not according to how we love ourselves (love thy neighbor as thy self).

“The Law of the Spirit of Life”

Don't sin "willfully" (Heb 10:26). The sins of the believer should be only those that are not intentional, e.g. envy, jealousy, wrath, etc.

    Law and Grace

William Kelly (1821-1906) “Every believer is regarded by God as alive from the dead, to bring forth fruit (not works) unto God (the fruit or works of the Spirit are by the Spirit through the believer; thus the believer is controlled by the Spirit in His fruit—NC). The law only deals with a man...

    Christian Tithe?

You could be an encouraging source instead of being an "accuser of the brethren" (Rev 12:10). Would be a nice change! God bless!!

    Christian Tithe?

How one gives is what matters with God: "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity" (2Co 9:7). One gives according to how they want to give. "He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap...

    Christian Tithe?

Amen, and thanks for the reply, on which I agree; but if a person only wants to give a tithe or even less it's acceptable: "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly."

    Christian Tithe?

The second year after the exodus, God introduced the law of tithing into the economy of Israel. It was included with other laws connected with Israel’s worship via the Tabernacle. The chief purpose of the tithe was to provide for the Levitical service of the Tabernacle. “Behold, I have given the...
