Twelve Stones = One Rock (Joshua 4:8, 9)

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, the stones being removed from the water represented life out of death, and the same stones on the shore represented the permanency of that life, similar to "lively stones" (1Pe 2:5).

Twelve Stones = One Rock (Joshua 4:8, 9)

Hi, and appreciate the reply, but to reply to you I would need to know what you mean by "conclusion." Thanks and God bless.

Hi, and thanks for the reply and encouraging comments!

    A Knowing-Hope!

There is a hopeful-hope, which does not involve certainties but possibilities or even probabilities. Then there is a knowing-Hope, which involves only certainties; and such is Christianity, within which all is certain and permanent. Otherwise there would be nothing on which to truly depend...

Twelve Stones = One Rock (Joshua 4:8, 9)

All that believers do for God is the result of His “work” within to enable them (Phl 2:13)! What He did under the Old Covenant between Himself and Israel was “a shadow” (Col 2:17; Heb 10:1) of what He is doing with Christians in the New Covenant between Himself and the Lord Jesus (“Covenant of...

    Wilderness Wealth (from 2015)

All reborn eventually realize the invaluable paces in the Father’s school of learning, which is most understood through traversing its difficulties, hardness and trials. We white-knuckle the paces initially, but progressively learn that the lessons are rigged, for none of them can escape the...

    True of False

There are types of people who profess to be in Christ; those who are truly in Him and those who are not in Him. This has always been the situation since the beginning of Christianity, and the false professors are the hypocrites who will inevitably manifest that they do not truly believe by...

    Obstinate Learner

“If we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins” (Heb 10:26 KJV).” “If we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins” (NLT). If...

    Association Above

One of the primary goals for believers is to “exhort one another” (Heb 10:25; also Heb 3:13; 1Th 4:18; 5:11), for as they grow in Christ (Eph 4:15; Eph 2:21; 1Pe 2:2; 2Pe 3:18) they become more aware of identifying “the old man” or “sin that dwelleth within” (Ro 7:17, 20) and its devices...

    With Him Inside—For Him Outside

Every true servant is sent forth from the immediate presence of the Father, with all its holiness and all its grace; and he is called to be holy and gracious—he is called to be the reflection of the grace and holiness of the divine character; and in order that he may be so, he should not only...

    Growth versus Law

Hi and appreciate your reply and comments! Godly attributes are all things that are attributed to God (originates from Him) and are performed by His Spirit using the believer. I believe whether or not one is genuine who professes to be a believer is a lesser issue that just assuming it true...

    A Musing

Hi, and your post has quite a bit of significance concerning Christ's words on His Cross, esp. in reference to your last comment concerning His expiation for believer's sin nature! I've come to understand that "it is finished" was in reference mostly to fulfilling the requirements of the Law at...

    A Musing

Regardless the reasons one might consider why man is born a sinner and needs saved, it’s my understanding that whatever may be conceived in thought concerning all the inquiries related to this or any other type of reasoning related to God’s ways, I’ve learned there’s nothing comparable to the...

    Growth versus Law

To me one who genuinely repents, genuinely believes, as it's my understanding they they are simultaneously received upon rebirth, as are all godly attributes (2Pe 1:3); and the primary fruit of all things godly is God's love within the believer unceasingly being shown to all others (Jhn 13:35)...

    Growth versus Law

It is by the Holy Spirit that growth develops from a life that loves it. Paul does not allow the law, either as a means of working our righteousness before God, nor as a means of producing sanctification. As justification is by faith in the Savior, so also, growth is the outcome of the new life...

    All Glory to God

Repentance can be desired, but its applicable, practical ability must be “given” from God! When Scripture says “Repent,” it designs the intention that those who truly desire to repent are being “drawn” by God (Jhn 6:44), as repentance via faith are the initial godly attributes applied towards...

    Strength via Weakness

To be strong in self, even new self, is to be weak in the Lord, for the command is—“be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might” (Eph 6:10). Thus to be strong in one’s self is to appropriate natural strength instead of spiritual strength; and natural strength never rightly endures, as...

    All-inclusive Object

More and more it becomes evident that the Lord Jesus does not have His proper place among the Children of God (though saved, yet many not adequately conformed maturely in Christ’s image, i.e. “walk as He walked” - 1Jo 2:6—NC). He is not the object of their hearts. It is either a doctrine, a...
