"n2 the light" just cut and pasted something that was, for me, much too long. Can't imagine that he/she really thought that would be convincing for anyone. Beside that, Genesis 1:1 says "HEAVENS" not "heaven" (singular) as "n2the light" has misquoted.

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

Atheist (and worse) websites often compare the Christian faith with "Mithraism" but any similarities are quite superficial. The teachings of Mithraism changed drastically after the advent of Christianity. What began as a secret cult (a "mystery religion") and was teamed with various other...

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

I didn't feel particularly "attacked" bbyrd--just wondering why the hostility toward other Christians? Jesus said that His followers would be with Him "always". Since He is immortal, I don't understand why you doubt that we will be too. The Bible tells us that He is the "first of many...

What if fallen angels decided to clone humans? Scientists do cloning experiments all the time. They are not producing life, they are manipulating it. I think they already have the ability to appear as men. Think of the holy angels in Sodom before they destroyed Sodom. They must have had...

Righteous angels do not procreate but are we so sure that evil, fallen angels did not figure out a way? Here's an article which does a pretty thorough assessment of the Genesis 6 passage on the "sons of God" marrying the "daughters of men". It is the best one I have found for explaining the...

Yes, I think that the angels' "first estate" is a heavenly body that cannot die. Jesus said that, in the Resurrection, we will become like the angels in heaven and will not marry or be given in marriage. Marrying and having children is one particular mark of being mortal. Those fallen angels...

And the creation of a new atmosphere (possibly even a new universe) and earth which shall house the New Jerusalem, like a Bride "coming down out of heaven from God." (Revelation 21:10). And God the Father, the Lamb and the Holy Spirit will be at the center of the New Jerusalem with all of His...

    Kingdoms

I notice that the author of the article picked up on all the Scripture that puts King David as the Prince who rules Israel during the Millennium under Christ's rule. That is what "King of Kings" means--an emperor, who rules over many kingdoms, each one having its own King or Prince. Most...

    Sex and the Papacy

I don't think it all can be blamed on priestly celibacy. I know a man who left an RCC seminary because a majority of the men there were sexually perverted and spoke openly about it. This should not be.

    Sex and the Papacy

What you are apparently trying to distract from is that these men are in leadership and the Bible is VERY clear about who is and who is not eligible for leadership in churches. Do most RC men sexually abuse children? If not (and I don't believe the average RC man does sexually abuse children)...

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

What is your purpose in saying that, bbyrd? Do you really expect that you will get a good reception with Christians when you mock and belittle them? You are obsessed with a couple of lines of Scripture--about which you expect others to do what? I have explained both passages in the context of...

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

Apparently, you know how to cut and paste Scripture but I fail to see why you think you have made some earth-shattering statement to me. I can and do read the Bible every day. I have known both of your quoted passages well for many years. Why should I remember what you have said over my own...

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

I didn't ask if you are a Catholic. Don't particularly care and am somewhat dubious that you are an RC anyway. I never spoke of "bad sinners" vs. "good sinners". Have a good day.

I can't understand it--it works for me. I just checked it.

    Daniel 8, 2,300 days

I have used the ESV as well. Translation is always a judgment call by the translators--there is no such thing as a perfect translation, unfortunately. Goes back to the Tower of Babel, I guess.

    Daniel 8, 2,300 days

Yes--I have a Jewish-Christian friend who says that the best translation for the OT is the NIV (although she doesn't like the newest NIV that came out a few years ago). She says that the NIV reads the most like the Hebrew. I have a Greek Cypriot friend who says that the New American Standard...

    Is God evil?

Yes--Middle Eastern pagans had some unspeakable rituals (don't ask) associated with "Easter".

    Is God evil?

LOL :D I'm reminded of a story my sister tells. Her mother-in-law was a bit of a crafter and sewed a sort of purple-flowered, flannel mumu for my sister, for Christmas one year (my sister said that it really was ugly and shapeless). My sister and her husband just had one child at the time...

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

You must have me confused with someone else--I never said there was any such thing as a "good sinner" as opposed to a "bad sinner"o_O You are apparently only interested in being unpleasant, accusatory and arguing for the sake of arguing, (arguing against "points" that others have never made)...
