    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

Again I say, you are like no other "Methodist" I ever met (and I have known a LOT of Methodists). The Methodists have not used the KJV for many decades. They are quite liberal in their disregard of Scripture anyway--they certainly would NOT be "KJV only" as you appear to be.

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

I used to be a Methodist--you are no Methodist. They at least, believe in being kind, gentle and humble.

    Is God evil?

Well, it is doubtful that these costumes would inspire lust. ;)

Yeah--"Earburner" quoting himself is a bit over the top.;)

    Mystery Babylon-Understanding the imagery

No--it cannot be Jerusalem--for lots of reasons. For one, it is the "City of the Great King". And who is that Great King? Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will set up His Kingdom there. Once the Antichrist destroys Rome, he will try to move his headquarters to Jerusalem but he...

    Is God evil?

I think it is the lack of modesty (which invites all the nearby men to lust) that is the problem. There are a lot of Christian moms and dads who have teenage sons. They would prefer that their sons not be exposed to near naked women.

    Is God evil?

Their evil was disobedience. No one said anything about nakedness being evil--between husband and wife in the privacy of their bedroom, it is quite appropriate. Adam and Eve's embarrassment over their nakedness is likely just a an association that they made between their lack of physical...

    Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

Yes--I heard a pastor once say something that stuck with me: "If you are afraid that you have committed the unpardonable sin, you more than likely haven't."

    Is God evil?

They were created in the spiritual state of innocence. From the moment they sinned, they knew guilt and shame for the first time. They experienced a death of their innocence and all of heaven likely wept. Jesus maintained His innocence until death. "As in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all...

    Is God evil?

Yes--babies and young children are innocent--that is, they don't have knowledge of good and evil. Jacob and Esau are described in Rebekah's womb as having done neither good, nor evil. (Romans 9:11) The grief that parents feel when their child does a deliberate evil for the first time (the...

    Is God evil?

NO. What we think of as evil--that is immoral--is not a possibility with God who is totally right in all that He does.

    Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

I think we are essentially speaking of the same thing but I think that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is calling His activities in this world "evil". He convicts the world of sin--an example that I can think of off the top of my head, is the issue of abortion. The Holy Spirit convicts even...

    Is God evil?

God's word is certainly true, but our understanding of it is sometimes flawed. The Jeremiah 29:11-->"For I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for evil..." Here, I think it means anything that is "not good" (i.e. not life-giving). God pronounced all that He had...

    Is God evil?

Yes, if life in this world of sin and death was all there was, I guess you could make a case that God is unjust. But, since we have the promise of a much better life in His perfect heaven if we are His, then it makes this life much less appealing. I often think about Jesus leaving the...

The Great Historic Revivals and What Triggered Them

Yes. A number of years ago, I remember a missionary speaking about demon-possession at a church I was attending. Our pastor was somewhat skeptical and suggested that it was just "mental illness" as it had not been talked about here yet. The missionary was quite adamant however, insisting that...

The Great Historic Revivals and What Triggered Them

I tend to agree with you--that we are in the "gleaning" stage of the "harvest"--that we might be nearing the territory of the "full number of the Gentiles". Pentecostalism has taken off in the Third World--I wonder how many are real: "Blood-bought, Bible-taught, Holy Spirit-wrought" believers...

The Great Historic Revivals and What Triggered Them

Also, another feature of true revival which has been noted is that it is a pastor-led revival--as in Jonathan Edwards leading the Great Awakening in New England or, in your example, Duncan Campbell in Scotland. Another feature is a return to Scripture as the basis of faith and practice. With...

    What is The Great Delusion?

Hi farouk, The so-called Mandela Effect is remembering events in a way that is markedly different from what really happened. It was named as such by some woman (I forget her name) who, in the 1980s thought she remembered that Nelson Mandela was dead (when he was very much alive at the time)...
