What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

I disagree with the scholar, totally and completely! I would like to know what Scripture he took that from.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Show me that in Scripture is what I would say to the scholar.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

His humanity came into existence! Being changed from one form to another! He has always existed.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Paul said in Heb.1:3 that Christ is "the express image of His person" that is the exact reproduction of God the Father in the flesh. The word "person" speaks of humanity, in which Christ expresses the same divine nature and character of God the Father. So, "being in the form of God" is much...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

"Being in the form of God" alone makes Him Deity! I'm thinking it's you who is twisting the Scripture. Maybe you don't think He is God but the Jews attempted to stone Him when He said He was the Son of God, saying to Him, you make yourself equal with God! But I suppose the JW's know more...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Well, show me from Scripture why you believe Christ was created. You can't just say the trinitarians are wrong and that Christ is not Deity, and that He was created. You've got to bring something to the table! If you have anything to bring to the table!

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Teaching that Christ was created in not something you can say and just pass it off. Whether you realize it or not, this is a very serious accusation! I suggest if that you believe that, let's settle it right now.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Christ was changed from one form to another, from whatever He was, assumed to be spirit form, to a man. He is the "only begotten" of the Father, which is a direct referral to His humanity. As I have said before, no one knows how the Holy Spirit did this, but we know He existed before His...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

How can a being be created who was with the Father before you say He was created? Where is the evidence in Scripture that Christ was created? Unless of course, you deny the Scripture I have shown you. Or the possibility that you have no idea of what you're talking about!

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

United in faith not that Christ is God Almighty. You say some very troubling things, Matthias. I'm here to show you Christ was not created!

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

NO! You said Christ was created at His virgin birth. I have shown you that is not correct. It seems you find it very easy to deny plain Scripture, Matthias.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

That is straight out calling Christ a liar!!! He plainly asked the Father to glorify Him in his humanity with the glory He had with the Father before creation. What you need to understand is that Christ set aside His expression of Deity, lowering Himself to man with the purpose of redeeming...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Christ never said He wasn't God! He said that He was the Son of God, which would make Him equal with God. Paul said of Him in Phil. 2:6 "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:" Whether you like it or not, Christ is equal with God and therefore Deity!

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

I would agree wit you if not for this verse and a few others. John 17:5 "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." He was with the Father before creation, so He was not created at His virgin birth. He was changed from...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

This Scripture is the proof that Christ became man. He was in the likeness of us, fully man and "fashioned" as we were. This speaks of the virgin birth, being conceived of the Holy Spirit and not by procreation. Col. 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." This verse...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Peterlag, have you ever read the Bible? It might pay you to read it before questioning it. Philippians 2:7-8

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

It should be obvious to the Bible student that the Scripture places more value on Christ being the Saviour than Him being God. Christ being God could not redeem man, it took God becoming man, lowering Himself from the Glory He had with the Father from eternity past. This is how Christ is...

Poll: Tattoo artist: if a Christian daughter/son of yours worked as one, would you be supportive?

I served from 75-79 with some good young men in the 82nd Airborne. 50 of us were together through basic training and jump school, we spent the entire 4 years together. We all bathed in rivers, streams, ponds, wherever we found water in the field, all over the world. I don't remember a single...

Poll: Tattoo artist: if a Christian daughter/son of yours worked as one, would you be supportive?

Theologians give the reasons (that I don't recall at the moment) about the superstitions of the pagans. The "round the corner" and "mar the corners" were references to superstition. I can look that up if you like. But look, if want to partake in such as this, have at it, I say it's not a very...
