5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. - Genesis 5:24

We must be born again to be God's kingdom.

I agree. Only those born again keep the commandments...This is the point I was making. These are the commandments...believe Jesus is the Christ and love one another.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Wormwood, From what I see a major disagreement we have is in the issue of the depravity of man. Here is probably the major dividing issue. I do see man depraved and enslaved into sin. He is spiritually dead. I read the Jack Cottrell quote and find it to be lacking. For instance I did show...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Wormwood, You are answering things posted in the past but seem more recent due to the rollback. I will still read your response and comment, yet it might take some time... Shalom! If you have time read this as the arguments truly apply... http://www.biblebb.com/files/spurgeon/0442.htm

5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

Those who saw Jesus saw God incarnate. Jesus is not a liar, no one has seen the Father except the Son. Yet to see the Son is to see the Father. We are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven now, the Kingdom is at hand.

    Attitude In The Morning

In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there. As I model my life after Him, morning prayer has been vital. Personally I am still working on that "early" part...lol

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Interesting verse from Ephesians pertaining to this topic... Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I appreciate your understanding of the term "saving faith" with Calvinistic theology behind it, yet this is not how I am using the phrase. Perhaps I could say effective faith. This is most definitely a biblical concept as proven by the 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 passage. Paul states some may have...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Well Stan here is the quote from Wormwood... As for 1 Cor 15:1-2, I would take the position that Paul is arguing that salvation is the result of persevering in the faith. Let's wait for the response shall we?

    The Doctrine of OSAS

If you say salvation is the result of persevering in the faith, then can you argue someone may lose something they are yet to attain? Without question I can say God saves all who are His. These are written in the Lamb's book of life from before the foundations of the world. This is the elect...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Wormwood, You have created a straw-man argument. Who is saying God predestined anyone to hell? The passage in question is 1 Corinthians 15:1-2. Please give us your understanding. I have provided my own with a plethora of other opinions supporting me. Also please convince me using Scripture...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

My point is you are leaning on your own flawed understanding...God has provided everything you need to know in His word. Yet your flawed interpretations have led to flawed understandings of the text. You set yourself up as the sole authority in interpreting the text, and you disregard anyone...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Please feel free to pull up other people that disagree with the interpretation of 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 You should take your own advise to not lean on your own understanding...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I preached to you in v. 2 repeats the same line found in v. 1. In v. 1 Paul’s line of thought followed a purely positive track leading to the Corinthians’ salvation. Here Paul goes back to where he started in v. 1 to allow for the frightening possibility that they may have believed in vain, if...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

What is interesting is you by this are saying you can see into their hearts knowing the believed in order to be saved. Yet the the Scripture says it is possible they believed in vain... Can you see into their hearts? No. BTW who is Barrd?

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Hebrews 10:12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

YAWN... I did not turn the verse backward, you are adding to the text. Where does it say they will lose salvation? Answer: No Where! It says if they don't continue in their faith they believed in vain. Some heard the gospel and believed in truth, others may have believed in vain. Those who...
