    Christianity Today Betrays the Truth

It's quite possible he has. I've head from people that I consider to be reputable, things that suggest he has some sort of faith. But, either way, it shouldn't matter. As Christians we need to realize that our leaders will seldom be Christian. We need to pray for them regardless, and urge them...

When do you feel closest to God?

I have a friend that lives near Avoca beach! And my mother grew up in Wyong. Beautiful area. No wonder you enjoy getting out and about. I'm glad the Lord gave you a positive outlet in a hard time. He's good like that. Man, non aircon. That's hardcore. It hit 46 here the other day. I hope its...

    Christianity Today Betrays the Truth

Well...that was essentially my question. Why are Christians insisting that the President MUST hold to the morality of a Pastor? I mean...I'm not American, so maybe there's something there that says that the President should. But...he's not ordained. And most Presidents, to my knowledge, don't...

When do you feel closest to God?

What a good idea! Do you have trouble finding nice places that are still cool? It's so hot here at the moment I nearly die every time I walk out the front door. Thanking God very much for air-conditioning at the moment. My husband is watching a monsoon system sitting over the top of the NT/WA at...

    Aussie fires....

Yeah...their all Commies. Here's how it goes: "We're all dead in 12 years unless you all do exactly as I say: stop eating that, stop shopping there, start working where I tell you, start buying what I tell you and follow my rules exactly." It's communism. If you look at all the rabid climate nut...

    Aussie fires....

The farmers have been calling for years, along with anyone else with a head on their shoulders, to allow for back-burning and a reduction in fuel load. We were all patted on our heads, told we were stupid 'environmental harmer/deniers' and to go away. Well, the toss pot Greenies have achieved...

When do you feel closest to God?

It's easy to forget sometimes, isn't it? Life just hits us in the face; its hard, or too busy or we don't make time to be quiet. I'm working on that...finding time to just be...quiet. I think it doesn't really come naturally in this technological age, so I'm forcing myself to put away my gadgets...

When do you feel closest to God?

Is that, perhaps, because you feel that you're living truly as his Disciple, when you live that way? I think that when we're thankful and feeling his closeness, and that echos out onto others; exchanged smiles in the store, letting that older person with 2 items in their basket go first instead...

When do you feel closest to God?

Oh goodness, yes! I would imagine so! For me, those things don't happen VERY often, dreams or directly speaking to my spirit, but I have had them enough to know how....electrifying they can be. Like the picture Michelangelo painted on the Sistine Chapel ceiling, the fingers of God and man...

When do you feel closest to God?

Hi Nancy, thanks for the reply. I think most of us have experienced the ebb and flow of the Christian walk, and then the wonderful relief of knowing Christ is always waiting for us with open arms when we pick ourselves up from our stumble, or from a betrayal or hardship. He is the stability and...

When do you feel closest to God?

Yes! I often find this too! My silly brain is too likely to wander off on foolish rabbit trails on its own. Holding a pen and bending it and my mind to putting my hope and heart on the page helps keep it in line a little.

When do you feel closest to God?

The heavens declare the glory! Yes, the night sky is amazing to look at. I grew up on a farm, away from city lights, and on a moonless night the wealth of stars flung across the inky sky could keep you still in silent prayers before his presence for hours. It's one thing to verbally acknowledge...

    The Divine Council.

Ah. As nice as that sounds, and as much as I hesitate to get into a deeper theological conversation on all this (just due to my general lack of knowledge on it all), I have to wonder if that's taking the clear and simple meaning of an allegory and going far beyond what was ever intended for it...

    Christianity Today Betrays the Truth

Oh, @Enoch111 , good. I was going to start a thread to ask people here about this, but as you've already got one up, we'll go with that. I do see you're not American, and I was hoping for some of their input, so hopefully some will come along, but I suppose America is so central to world...

When do you feel closest to God?

I struggled a little to know how to 'title' this thread. But I was just curious as to how people individually found themselves best connecting to God in worship and praise? Personally, I find it's music. Music hits me in the feels, and when it's praise music that speaks of all Jesus has done...

    The Divine Council.

You should speak to my son, he'd fancy that idea SO much! He too cannot fathom that there is soo many stars and planets out there, only for them to be barren. And who knows, you may both be right. For myself, I cannot wait for the new creation and the possibility that we might get to go out and...

    The Divine Council.

The man is seriously prolific....he had several podcasts, I think, and a Youtube show. It's all pretty interesting stuff. I'm actually pretty careful when it comes to all this stuff, I'm not the sort to jump in the deep end. And I have to say that thus far I've been impressed with...

    The Divine Council.

I think, yes, God obviously doesn't need council or help, but it's clear that at times he chooses to operate with his Council in this way: And Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing beside him on his right...

    The Divine Council.

I have not heard of the 'other worlds' idea before. May I ask what makes you think that its actual 'worlds' rather than, perhaps, different...ah...dimensions. We could say, for example, that heaven is not necessarily a place somewhere up in the sky, but another world separate from ours that we...

    The Divine Council.

Hi marks! I think you are right, and from what I can tell from Heiser's work, he would agree with you as well. He suggests the Divine Council are more like...God's heavenly family. He poses the idea that just as God made Adam and Eve to dwell WITH him in fellowship and be, in a real sense...
