THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

All believers are "in Christ"--whether they are the remnant of the nation of Israel (Ro 11:5), or the remnants of other nations.

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

I am showing you the more reasonable reading : the Gentile believers Paul addresses in the Epistle to the Romans (eg, 11:13) are literally the Gentile believers in the audience in the Roman Church. LOL! I mean, my goodness, man, how far out there do you have to be to go out of your way to deny...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

Yeah, Jesus brings God's Kingdom to earth--we only have the spirit of adoption, but we are waiting in hope for the adoption of the body, so, also, the Kingdom was brought spiritually, and, later, it will be brought physically, and those who live faithful to the King and His Kingdom now will...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

    I already did--several times--Romans 11:17-22, for instance.

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

Why would you quote Acts 3 for explaining national salvation at Christ's return? Literally, many INDIVIDUALS in the crowd repent and are saved, and many don't. You are mixed up. Except that Jesus told the Apostles to go teach the nations so that they will observe all things He taught, so those...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

Realize that when you imagine Paul would be excluded from your imaginary "church the believing remnant", you are utterly without reason or grounding in reality : Paul is both an Israelite, and is of the remnant of Israel which God is saving/preserving by Grace. Romans 11 ESV 1I ask, then, has...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

But Jesus said "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven", so God's Heavenly Kingdom is coming to earth, so there's no division between God's Kingdom on earth and God's Kingdom in heaven, so why are you saying these things? What are you doing? Why are you making such a...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

Are you trying to resolve Acts 21 with this odd, deranged, interpretation of Scripture? I don't understand what problem you're trying to solve by (illegitimately) dividing the Church up like this. Or is this really just your straightforward reading of the texts? What problem are you trying to...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

    Then your title is wrong.

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

I think "the body" and "the bride" are two sides of the same coin : Eve was Adam's own body and was his bride, and Christ is the antitype to Adam (Ro 5)--His body being His bride would make perfect sense.

    Mary as New Eve

Correct. I already detected errors in traditions you hold to. Why on earth would I take anything you all would say wholesale, unthinkingly? Makes no sense.

    Mary as New Eve

Yeah, I'm not putting my soul in anyone else's hands. What kind of foolishness would that be?

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

I thought you were being sarcastic (in a good way) so I laughed at your joke.

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

They're not interested in truth, they have their manmade tradition--they believe a tiny sliver of Scripture to the exclusion of all else. They plug their ears, and scream, "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

I don't know if you've picked up on it, but some people are beyond being reasoned with. It may be a waste of your energies.

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

@Doug Still haven't gotten an answer to this--Jewish believers have died, thus were freed from their obligation to serve by the Law, and are no longer in the flesh but are in the spirit (Ro 7:5, 8:9)...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

If Peter was never in the Church, why does he think that Jesus's rules about the Church apply to him, so that he asks about how many times he should forgive his brother, and why does Jesus give him the rules for behavior in the Church? Matthew 18 15“If your brother sins, go and show him his...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

So, would you say that this would be one of the points on which you differ with Doug?

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

    Sorry, it was Ro 11:13

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

At the time, I was trying to understand your position--because it's really fortuitous, has no actual logic or sense--on whether the so-called "remnant of Israel believers" were "in Christ".
