    Protection From False Prophets

Once again, you are ignoring the whole part before then when a person becomes a Christian because they have faith in Christ.

    Protection From False Prophets

That’s actually inaccurate, for the reasons we’ve gone over and you’ve ignored my explanations.

    Religion??

Very nice post! another way I would phrase this point from my life/perspective: I believe the Bible is the word of God. But I don’t believe that it is the only words of God. He is great and all-powerful and can/should also speak directly to each of our hearts.

No Righteousness of Obeying The Ten Commandments

Im noticing how you went from mis-quoting scriptures out of context, ignored my explanation, and now are now mis-quote non-scriptures out of context. Or rather, you're quoting somebody else doing the mis-quoting, you yourself didn’t read these books. Best practices for study: do research...

Believe in God, you will be saved

I do love the sentiment, but not the word for word prayer at the end. Speaking to God should ideally be in one’s own words, not a script. but still, faith in Christ is a wonderful thing!

    JaneDoe's "What I believe"

Articles of Faith #3 & 4. "3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. 4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance...

No Righteousness of Obeying The Ten Commandments

Context is critical. It's poor study to develop one's own theology on a single verse outside of context, and just dumb to criticize another's beliefs based one verse out of context. Looking at the context, section posted below and full chapter link here (2 Nephi 25), you'll see that the writer...

    JaneDoe's "What I believe"

I think I'll go through the Articles of Faith. These are central tenants of belief, and are considered to be scripture. They're really short, so I'll add some commentary are well going deeper into things. This will take a couple of days to go through. Link is here: The Articles of Faith: 13...

    Beautiful, thank you for sharing.

    Authority over one’s faith.

Well I acknowledge your views there. Not much to converse off.

    Authority over one’s faith.

? Are the only two options you see in life are 1) declare that there can never be a man of God 2) blindly believe every single person who declares that they are a man of God.

    Authority over one’s faith.

Just because a man declares He is of God doesn’t mean you automatically believe him- do your homework and check with God yourself. But the presence of some wolves also doesn’t mean that there are no men of God. And even men of God do make mistakes. Again: do your homework !

    Authority over one’s faith.

I totally acknowledge your right to believe as you do and make zero enfridgment upon it. It just doesn’t make sense to me: the menso much of the New Testement would be devoted to how to lead and fellowship because we are supposed to do that. I don’t see scripture having an expiration date.
  18. J

    Authority over one’s faith.

Why would Christ and the Apostles give so much guidance and commentary on leadership and fellowship then? Why have instructions for leaders when there aren’t supposed to be any leaders?
  19. J

    Authority over one’s faith.

I'm going to disagree with you here @MatthewG . The Bible clearly shows the importance of believers fellowshipping, getting correction, having leaders, and all around helping each other grow. To say that there should be no leader's after Christ Ascension would mean that Peter, Paul, and all...

    JaneDoe's "What I believe"

Topic for Monday: Faith and works. A person is saved by faith. Faith in Christ comes first in the Christian life: it's the very start & foundation of everything. You can't "work" you way to Heaven on your own- such an idea is downright laughable in it's absurdity. However, Christ did not...
