    The Prophetesses

The prophetesses & other strong women have been one of the areas I’ve personally been focusing on this read through of the Old Testament. My most recent focus chapter what Miriam her disagreement with Moses over his wife. Women can indeed channel the power of God, but are fallible and can...

The Deity of Jesus under attack on this forum.

Sharing my experience: I firmly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He’s always been God and will always be. He created the world. He + the Father + the Spirt are 3 persons in 1 God. But I do not ratify the Creeds, nor consider myself a Trinitarian because I cannot accept the...

The Deity of Jesus under attack on this forum.

Love of Christ is what makes a person a Christian. Not their ability to pass a theology test. Not their ability to live a perfect life. again: focus on helping people grow in faith & knowledge, not flaming.

The Deity of Jesus under attack on this forum.

Note: calling someone a “cultist” is flaming.

The Deity of Jesus under attack on this forum.

I would state that the divinity of Christ is indeed a central point of any Christian faith. Now, if someone doesn’t understand that, I’m going to happily and respectfully talk to them about it, encouraging them to grow in knowledge & faith. Also, spend time listening to them explain their love...

For those who think Jesus is God - Why is that important?

<Actual “Mormon” here> “Mormons” believe that Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God, always has been, always will be. He + the Father + the Holy Spirit are 3 different persons in 1 God.

What is so wrong with Calvinism ?

    Ignoring my point negate it.

What is so wrong with Calvinism ?

I myself PASSIONATELY disagree with Calvinism and find it to be very twisted. But there’s no need to flame the believers or their beliefs. I’ve spent much time talking with Calvinist believers, striving to understand why &!how the believe as they believe as they do. I strive to show them love &...

What is so wrong with Calvinism ?

When you yourself aren’t willing to actually talk with another person, to understand what they really believe and show that interest in truth, and instead just want flame…. No Christian, of any denomination, has need to flame others. Or to fear sitting down with them to understand. Rather...

What is so wrong with Calvinism ?

Have you honestly spent the time to understand a person, what they believe and how they strive to find truth?

What is so wrong with Calvinism ?

Then spend the time to work with that INDIVIDUAL for where they have gone astray. Again, with charity or you are just a clanging cymbal. Flaming and slapping around labels doesn’t help anyone come to Christ.

What is so wrong with Calvinism ?

I would humbly suggest a more charitable approach to others, taking the time to understand people and show them Christ’s love. Slapping around labels doesn’t encourage anyone to learn or grow in Christ.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

LDS Christians (“Mormons”) believe that Jesus Christ existed always. He is the one and only Begotten Son of God. Divine. He created the world, spoke to Moses through the burning bush, is the great I Am.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

@Brakelite , I’ve not been following this thread lately, but your (rhetorical?) Mormon example is not remotely accurate as to actual LDS Christian beliefs.

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

Speaking as a religious person AND a trained scientist: in both fields you learn step by step, think and test things out, and make corrections. Sometimes those corrections are major and feels like you just tossed tons of what you “knew” into the bin, along with all the time & energy & personal...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Believers are starting on the path today. Full sanctification and perfection is a lifetime+ journey. We got a loooooonnng way to go.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Yes and no, depending on how you define it. Yes in believing that 3 divine persons in 1 God. No in believing Creedal statements like about being of one substance.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

….??? I am LDS. Active, believing, temple worthy. Actual LDS Christian beleifs are very different what others will tell you. Part of this is due to simple language differences, part due to just blatant misinformation. If you want I can refer you to several threads on the subject I’ve...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Become one WITH God. Not replacing Him. And yes, I find this very consistent with all of John 17.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

LDS Christians do believe that the Father, Son, and Spirit are 3 persons in 1 God. All having always existed, are all powerful, all benevolent/justice/merciful etc. But LDS Christians differ from Creedal Christians in that we don’t endorse the Creeds, such as the Athanasain Creed’s statement...
