Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Believe me, the world didn't beg for it ... they didn't want it. .

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Guess I need to post the "BACs need to keep repenting" thread. Are you up for it? Actually, it's the same olde story ... We must RECONCILE the so-called OSAS verses with the many verses which are against OSAS !!! And the best way to do this, IMO, is to understand that: True saving belief =...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Well re: the OP, see 'proof' that we were only forgiven our past sin's. And re: in the here and now ... sins is plural ... sin's is possessive.

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Yes indeed, bless you...Helen. Heads up ... Bless you, Helen ... is totally different than Bless you...Helen I.E. Is Helen BB or ByGrace? Meanwhile, is ByGrace a "grace-only" advocate? How about a "greasy-grace" advocate? Grace is God's part ... Obedience is our part. Yes, it's a co-operative...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Because only the Lord can reveal the Truth to those who are deceived. You have rejected man's best efforts, so it's up to God. Will He be successful? ... News Flash: Sometimes God is not successful. News Flash: Sometimes God chooses not to reveal the Truth. News Flash: Remember, man has free will.

I did ... and I must warn you ... you have been (and are now) totally deceived! .

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Unfortunately, you and many others choose to ignore and/or reject the dire warnings about the wages of sin is death, etc. that God has placed in the NT. Perhaps, it's time to list them again! BTW, are you an ignorer or a rejecter/rejector?

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

A person can believe and sincerely repent and receive the Holy Spirit. His life will eventually change ... bearing the fruit of salvation. Then, lo and behold, because of His free will, he can go back to some of his old sins. Result: falling away, falling from grace, drawing back unto perdition...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Paul was just telling them that they were still carrying on with their old (former) sins. Sure they repented of them initially when they first received the Holy Spirit, but they went back to them again ... and need to repent of them AGAIN. This is exceedingly prevalent in today's churches ...

Please quote from the OP what you're talking about. Initial repentance is different that on-going repentance.

    Absolute Predestination:

C'mon, we only care about predestination as it applies to humans. The NT teaches that ... God chose some humans before the foundation of the world, predestining them to be the chosen and called ones ... that they would become holy, live holy lives, etc. IMO, some of the ones who are chosen to...

Warning: anyone who is a habitual sinner is NOT in a saved state

One must decide for themselves ... is the Kingdom of God/Chris the same as Heaven? One interesting side-note comes from Finnius Dake, who insisted that the Kingdom of Christ is a rather small subset of the Kingdom of God.

Warning: anyone who is a habitual sinner is NOT in a saved state

By “habitual sinner” I mean a person who repeatedly sins without repentance. This means everyone (BACs included) … because everyone can choose to sin. Repentance means to hate your sin, run from it, and don’t do it anymore. If one does slip up and sins again, he/she can repent again as in 1 John...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

These 2 verses have been brought to my attention recently … “Repent of your wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts (i.e. sins).” (Acts 8:22, NLT) “Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Simple Question: How can the Mods allow a thread to get so far off track that people are scurrying down multiple rabbit holes without being shown the way out?

A warning to born-again believers who are sinning habitually

As stated at the end of post #2 … Believers stay righteous through ● practicing righteousness ● loving Jesus unto obedience ● enduring until the end of their lives ● repenting of their sins ● living holy lives ● loving, forgiving, not condemning ● being victorious overcomers ALL of the above is...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Anyone denying the Trinity is ignoring MANY verses in Scripture! 2 simple examples: --- Several NT verses say Jesus is EQUAL to Father God. Of course, this leaves out the Third Person (Manifestation). --- I have 20 NT verses, all of which mention all Three Members of the Holy Trinity. Really...

A warning to born-again believers who are sinning habitually

Many have said that we are the church of Laodicea (see Revelation 3:14-22), and the reason is: pastors are not warning their sheep of their responsibilities. Jesus often warned, “Do not let anyone deceive you.” Paul talked about “this evil world in which we live” (Galatians 1:4), and Jesus even...
