    The Five Points of Calvinism

If a people were created fallen and devoid of freewill, then everyone who ends up in Hell is because God created them that way, devoid of choice, and forced them to be there.

    The Five Points of Calvinism

Calvinism is wrong, devoid of love, and does make God out to be a respecter of persons.

    The Five Points of Calvinism

If you believe in pre-destination, then this belief (that God created people just to torture them) is part of the package. You can't avoid it. This is talking about temporal sufferings in a mortal life, not about Hell. God benefits by having someone damned and tortured in Hell forever? I must...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

You keep overlooking that fact that Calvinism also teaches that God created some people just to torture them in Hell. He never loved them, He never died for them. He just created them fallen, devoid of choice, and then forced them to Hell. This is the OPPOSITE of the God that so loved the...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

None of this supports a God of force, or one that made people for no other purpose than to force them to Hell. God is not a slaver. He does not force (as Calvinism teaches). God is the good shepard who's sheep willingly follow Him. He offers this same love and gift to ALL men (not just some).

    The Five Points of Calvinism

Again, this doesn't have anything to do with force. A sheep chooses to willingly follow the shepard out of love. It is not out of force like a low-quality sheep herder.

    The Five Points of Calvinism

I read this scripture, and it clearly states that they do not believe because they have rejected these teachings. It doesn't say anything about belief only coming through force. WILLING. A person has the CHOICE. It is not forced.

    The Five Points of Calvinism

Again, with all due respect, Ido not find scripture to match what you are saying.

    Some good information for Dave

I do not judge and entire publishing house, or even the entire book. I"m just stating this particular passage is bad information. I respect White's work n his own faith, but when it comes to his writings on other faiths... not so much (major understatement there).

    Some good information for Dave

And I'm letting you know what information is good or bad.

    The Five Points of Calvinism

This argument doesn't make any sense. There have been PLENTY of false movements which have gain popular traction. I would recommend reading them, even if just from a history of theology standpoint, as they have been extremely influential over time. Reading them = the actual entire documents...

    Some good information for Dave

And you now know that this is junk information. Two good pieces of advice when it comes to understanding what someone beliefs: - Actually ask the person. First hand sources are your best go. -Spend more than 15 minutes. I'm sure you would appreciate these basic things when it comes to people...

    Some good information for Dave

Yeah, this video is an great example of low-quality "anti-cultists" that for some reason can't be bothered to discuss about actual beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Literally the entire video is completely off base. I don't care if someone disagrees with my beliefs-...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

My beliefs: God creates and loves all people, and offers His gift to all people. If someone choose to reject God's gift, their damnation is not because God didn't love them. Calvinist beliefs are not that. I loving shepard I *choose* to follow. Not a slave master.
  15. J

    The Five Points of Calvinism

No. Not according to Calvinism. In Calvinism, the atonement is limited only to a elect elite class. Rest of men were just created to be tortured forever. Nonsense. A person just accepts Christ's gift. That person didn't remotely make that gift, nor were they worthy of it. They just accept...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

NO!!!! God is not a slaver!!! This quote does NOT remotely support the slavery you are advocating. When a sheep chooses to follow the shepard, it is because they are choosing to follow, out of affection to him. They are not forced, nor threatened via dogs or such things a low-quality sheep...

    Some good information for Dave

Cliff-notes-stype recap on the blood atonement: an idea tossed around in the 1800's but never remotely as canonized doctrine and extremely misunderstood/controversial even at the time. It was dismissed even by it's once biggest proponents in the late 1800's. Mid 1900's it was hard-line...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

(Again, with all due respect to you) From where I'm standing: Calvinism is ALL about force and denial of free will. It is a a doctrine of slavery and hatred. If you want to use your own words to tell me how you see God offering salvation to every single person, and each person having the...

    The Five Points of Calvinism

Slavery is not love. Force is not love. Calvinism is not love. The Bible does not preach of a being whom hated so much he created a bunch of people to force to hell and a bunch of people to forcefully be slaves.

    The Five Points of Calvinism

I am trying hard to find the words to say here, to express my beliefs without horribly offending you (knowing that you are a Calvinist). Suffice it to say, when I read scripture, I read of a God of love, whom is not a respecter of persons, and loved the entire world so much to suffer and die so...
