Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Would you call it an event, or a process? An example of it being an event would be something you could say "I was saved on July 22, 1996". It's a once-and-done events. A different viewpoint would be salvation being a process intertwined with sanctification. And then there's more viewpoints too.

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

This is something you're going to get a whole bunch of different answers simply based on the definitions of the words themselves. For example, does a person view them as two different things or are they inseparable? OSAS? Are each of them an singular event or a process? Etc. As for my...

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

(Seeking clarification, is the below what you're asking--) A question: When appropriated (applied to one's life), can it justify without also sanctifying?

    Why Baptize a Baby?

:) For the record, I don't have any blanket ban on the idea of Christian teachers-- in fact I think they are really important. I'm not remotely a sola scriptura person. Teachers can indeed be servants of God, and are super important for guiding individuals and the world. And I do actually...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

*Jane takes a deep breath* It isn't remotely about "Jane just going to do whatever and she wants". No. It's not about what I want. I am on my knees this entire time. It's about what God instructs me to do. God is my King. I look towards Him alone, because I am a disciple of Christ, a...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Mary, I'm talking about me studying and me getting down on my knees to ask God about it and me listening to God. If you want to relate to me here, please tell me about you getting on your knees and you conversing with God. Not more about other sinners arguing and then you looking solely towards...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

First and foremost, by studying them out and asking/listening to God Himself.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

For one, it's value on contemplating and studying things of God.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

I'm just trying to be helpful Mary. I'm not Catholic, but there are a lot of strengths in Catholicism and the Catholic people I do acknowledge and admire. Though like all humans there all flaws in people too. Respecting other people/faiths and building bridges of understanding each other is...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Mary, I'm not Catholic. I'm not Protestant. I have no dog in this fight. I was just letting you know what image you are painting of yourself here. Random statements like the below are you taking random shots Protestant-bashing, just like the example I gave of randomly bring up the Catholic...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Randomly pointing out things about another faith/church you don't like is bashing. It makes the person doing it look very hateful and makes other people dismiss that person and their beliefs. So if that's the impression you want to convey, by all means keep at it. If you want to convey a...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

If* I were to bring up the Catholic Priest scandal randomly, that is bring up a fact. But to randomly bring it up just because I don't like Catholics would be Catholic bashing. You would also instantly dismiss me and anything I say because I'm just a hateful anti-Catholic. Just like you...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Neither. You should ask God and listen to what He says.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

??? This random Protestant bashing you do is very destructive to having a civil dialogue.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Correct. God answers all who come to Him. Nothing special about me.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Do you believe an infant must be baptized to forgive Adam's sin? Not all Christians believe that.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Correct. Truth comes from God. Mary, I know that this isn't going to make much sense to you, but I don't look to men or popular vote or history to determine Truth. All of your arguments here have a foundation in sand for me. I go to the source of Truth (God) and ask Him. That's my way. I...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Agreed. That was my thought process /observation too, even after being civil and offering a hand.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

I've reached that same conclusion. The constant attacks and arrogance... actions speak VERY loudly. Much more so that a typed comment of "I love Protestants".

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Correction: what I said was that I don't find history to be a good epistemological method for determining Truth. All history. Ain't nothing special about pre or post Reformation. Because history is the imperfect recounting of imperfect events told by the imperfect victor. It has little to do...
