    Saved Or Predestined ???

Genesis 3:15 is a prophecy about Christ. And about how he will defeat Satan at the cross. It's about salvation in that way. Of course we must be born again, and that first requires belief. I see no contradiction. God gathers those who believe. Jesus gives to the father those who choose to listen...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Man doesn't cause his salvation by being willing, but God will not save those who are not willing. Pretty simple.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Prove it. You just made a statement about the conviction being different, but you did not show that to be true. Nothing to rebut because you are just making stuff up.

What do you think this text says about the deity of Christ?

What is the conclusion of all your supposing here? When we read: "In the beginning was the Word" in John's Gospel, we should immediately think of another Bible text that begins with the same introductory phrase. Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Man is not flesh only and man's spirit can respond to the Spirit of God. How would anyone get saved if they didn't respond to the Holy Spirit? Scripture makes it clear that we all have a choice to follow either the Spirit or the flesh. 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

So, you are saying we must be born again before we can be born again? This is just Calvinists' foolishness. Belief always precedes salvation in the Word.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

No, you are not understanding. God can set any condition he likes for salvation. If he decided that only redheads could be saved, that would be his prerogative. But what we are told over and over again in scripture is that belief is the condition for salvation. God saves, but he requires a...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

This passage (John 16:8) explicitly says the Holy Spirit will be working on the WORLD (which is a group larger than just those who eventually become believers). And this work of the Spirit is tied to salvation and leading people to Christ. If individual election were true, then the Spirit’s work...

What do you think this text says about the deity of Christ?

We aren't talking about infants. We are talking about people who insist on wrong doctrine, and make Jesus someone far less than he claimed to be.

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

So, Jesus made up a false view of the afterlife for no reason? Because if the dead are just in the grave, all he had to do was say that, and it would not have changed what you claim is the whole point.

What do you think this text says about the deity of Christ?

Which was my point. You can not have your heart right with him if you are wrong about who he is. No relationship can work that way.

What do you think this text says about the deity of Christ?

The Word has always existed. He had no beginning.

What do you think this text says about the deity of Christ?

Romans 10:10 seems pretty clear to me. "We believe everything which the Lord Jesus has taught, but we must go a step further, and trust him. It is not even enough to believe in him, as being the Son of God, and the anointed of the Lord; but we must believe on him… The faith that saves is not...

What do you think this text says about the deity of Christ?

That is some slippery slope you have there. If I can believe Jesus is anything I want to believe, he can be Mohammed or the buddha or Micky mouse, but as long as I call him "Jesus" I'm good to go staight to heaven, no passing go or collecting $200?

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

We weren't talking about bread. Are you sure you are even in the right conversation? What does bread even have to do with this discussion? It's not "someones" vision, it's Jesus' teaching about heaven and hell. You expect me to buy that Jesus taught a false idea about the afterlife merely to...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Of course it's God who saves. I just said that. You say: " man was given the freedom to choose to obey or disobey, to do good or do evil. You have that problem with salvation in that, you take salvation as being about man's "free will" when it is really not, but is rather about God's." No...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

In Psalm 51, David was convicted of his sin of adultery and confessed to the Lord, "For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight" (Psalm 51:3-4). He saw his sin as ultimately against God and worthy of...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

I do, which we already discussed. I can't decide where to be born, for example. I can't decide my circumstances as a baby. I can, however, choose how I make use of what I'm given.

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

No, as far as what it actually says. Your speculations don't have anything to do with the actual context and story. It's like the people who look for secret codes in the Bible.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

So he can choose to sin but not choose to respond to God's invitation? Seems illogical. No we don't save ourselves, but we must cooperate in order to be saved.
