The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

It makes more sense if "kai" is rendered "even". True faith does not include within it works. For we are saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. If works is included in faith, then this scripture doesn't make...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Since salvation is "not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:9) it follows that the works that we do as believers do not earn salvation but are because we have salvation and are subsequent to salvation; since works do not save, therefore our good works are not unto salvation, but...

    Our Two “I’s”

It takes action on our part...but yes we mortify the deeds of the body in the power of the Holy Ghost. It is something that we must do. We do not take a passive role in it; but an active one.

HEBREWS 3 AN EVIL HEART OF UNBELIEF

However, you have not made a good enough case that the recipients of the letter to the Hebrews were not in the body of Christ.

    Our Two “I’s”

Nevertheless, to mortify the deeds of the body is something that we do, in the power of the Holy Spirit. I think the scripture at hand (Romans 8:13) is clear on that. Of course it is God who works within us both to will and to do according to His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). But it is...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I do know Him...and I also know of Him, that He will save the one who seeks Him early...it is very less likely that He will save the one who seeks Him late. Call upon Him while He is near, is the scriptural exhortation. Seek the LORD while He may be found.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

#1, justbyfaith, has two different meanings = righteous by faith, and, only by faith. #2, my theology does not contradict the second meaning. Col 2:12, Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The fact that predestination is involved means that the Lord reserves the right to reject the man in the desert who at the last minute begins to seek Him, over the fact that he has no water to be baptized in the name of Jesus. Psa 32:5, I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

In Acts 2:38-39 it is written that the promise of the Holy Ghost (a conditional promise of which the condition is repentance and baptism in Jesus' Name) will be given to as many as the Lord our God shall call. In Romans 8:30 it is found that those who are called have already been predestinated...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

If anyone is truly baptized in the Spirit apart from water baptism in Jesus' Name, He will lead them to be baptized in His name.

    Our Two “I’s”

@marks, What, in your opinion, is the nature of sanctification as a process?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Most certainly....if you don't want to go to heaven, God is not going to force you to enter in kicking and screaming.... However, there is a sense in which I think that such a thing would be more loving of God than what we find in the reality.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I have indeed addressed 1 John 1:8, and Romans 7:14-25, within this very thread. I will post the links to the posts shortly. The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered...

    Our Two “I’s”

I do believe that the Lord calls upon us to mortify the deeds of the body...He does not do that for us...but we must do it in the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 8:13 is clear: Rom 8:13, For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the...

    Our Two “I’s”

It was the error of gnosticism that taught that what we do in the flesh doesn't matter because it is not our real selves doing the committing of the sins. I would simply point out that when we sin in the flesh, it is still us sinning and we will be held accountable for what we do on our day of...

6 Years Left Until the Second Coming of Yeshuah in 2026

Looks like we are looking at another Harold Camping.

    What Is Love?

Some of the things, having to do with Mary, are very likely not based in reality; as they exalt Mary to a position that does not belong to her.

I disagree. Can you give scriptural backing for your statement?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The Lord is the One who keeps me. I have explained Romans 7:14-25 already; as well as 1 John 1:8. In 1 Timothy 1:15, Paul is verily speaking of his past. He was formerly a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious (1 Timothy 1:13). But if he continued to be the chief of sinners in his...

    What Is Love?

Salt is a preserving agent; when it is placed in a wound, it heals, but also causes irritation; too much salt will produce a distinctly potent taste in the mouth; it produces thirst; and there may be a few other attributes of salt that I can not think of right now.
