Is it possible to lose salvation?

Yes. I define spiritual death as separation from the covenant, so that tracks. That's a novel idea. Don't think I've ever considered that one. My thought was moreso that one would become part of a different covenant, that one would throw-in with a power or principality other than Christ...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Elsewhere, the "seal" is referred to as an "earnest." An earnest is a down payment on something, but it does include the idea that the transaction can be canceled. Albeit, if the transaction IS canceled, the earnest is typically forfeit by the buyer. There is some idea of an incomplete...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Did I say that? I don't think I've responded here since about page 5? I thought I framed it in terms of adoption. Where God has adopted, the only way to break that is to have another adoption... to become someone else's child. Not impossible. But it's not likely to happen unless one makes a...

Somalis in MN...want Shari'a, think you should be killed for insulting Mohammad

I find it surprising. Israel has historically been among the most nationalist countries in the world.

    Christians who hate Israel

"You've committed one of the classic blunders... never get involved in a land war in Asia!"

    holy laughter

If you adopt of cadre of pretenders, I think the conclusion is foregone. It's hard to evaluate without personal experience. If you have none, can you really have an opinion?

    holy laughter

I agree... you don't seem to have followed the conversation entirely. Who is "they?" Holy laughter, to my knowledge, is largely experiential. There is nothing written about it in Scripture, unless you co-opt verses about JOY, which is related but not really the thing.

    holy laughter

Right, so... my response was to this: ...which is not about holy laughter.

    holy laughter

We're talking about spiritual gifts (babies), and the abuses of spiritual gifts (bathwater).

    holy laughter

There's a lot more bathwater than babies. But do try not to toss the babies when you're dumping the soiled water.

    holy laughter

If you were in Portland rather than Denver, I think you might start a parade. You never know.

    holy laughter

In my experience, the laughter was neither spontaneous nor disruptive. One may understand a thing by reading about it. One might know something by experiencing it. The man who understands will have a hard time convincing the one who knows.

    holy laughter

That's kind of sad to me. Clearly that can be the case, but... have you never watched a stupid comedy with friends? You wanna come over and watch The Naked Gun with me? The old one, not that abominable sequel they made last year...

    holy laughter

I'm a believer in Holy Laughter. Grew up in a Pentecostal church. Seen that in the wild. Honestly, I've never seen anyone question it, outside of those who believe that all gifts have ceased.

    holy laughter

I've been on BAM for a little under a year. I hadn't posted there much til recently. You have a distinctive way of punctuating that gives you away. What do you think about holy laughter?
  17. Wick Stick

    holy laughter

There's such thing as holy laughter. Been there; seen that. Your experience seems to be one of the devil counterfeiting God's gifts. It happens all the time with tongues, too. That doesn't mean you should completely throw out the original gift.

    Israel "the promised land"

There are way more than four generals who were involved in the split. Perdiccas, Antipater, and Antigonus were important early on. It's notable that Seleucus and Cassander were not among the first diadochi. Perdiccas was assassinated by his own army, including Seleucus, who became Satrap of...

Appears to be time for the beginning of great deception.

I suspect when the next pandemic hits, it will be something worse than a souped-up cold. I also suspect that many people will reject another emergency immunization. I guess what I'm saying is... they don't need to put a killlswitch in the vaccines. They've already conditioned the detestables...
