    "True" Israel?

Nah. Israel the nation began to exist during the Exodus, when a diverse group of peoples who came out of Egypt were all baptized together and became one group. Per Paul, 1Cor 10: 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and...

Every branch that bears fruit is pruned. - John 15

We have an herb harden as well... tomatoes, bell peppers, chilis, garlic, basil, thai basil, mint, and rosemary. My wife mostly tends that. She hates pruning anything. I'm in trouble with her every time I prune anything!

Every branch that bears fruit is pruned. - John 15

If your tree doesn't flower and fruit, it's probably malnourished. Feed it some plant food. Alternately, it might be planted in soil with too much clay, making it hard for the roots to absorb anything. If your tree makes fruits, but they wither before maturing, it may be underwatered, or it...

Every branch that bears fruit is pruned. - John 15

I have fruit trees. The very fruitful branches get pruned of half their fruit. This does two things (a) it prevents the branch from becoming too heavy and breaking, and (b) it allows the remaining half of the fruit to thrive If there are too many fruits on a branch, even if it doesn't break...

    "True" Israel?

That's not introducing a new definition. That's restoring the original definition. At the first parts of Genesis, being a child of Abraham means inheriting the promise through faith. Isaac inherits by faith; Ishmael does not. Jacob inherits through faith; Esau sells his birthright through...

Does Understanding Eschatology Prove You Are Saved?

It wasn't directed at you, personally. It's based on experience. It has more to do with those I've conversed with in the past.

Seeking Recommendations for a Trustworthy House Painter – Any Advice from Fellow Believers?

I work with small businesses, most of whom are contractors of one type or another. One thing I can tell you about professional painters - they're all crazy and none of them are very reliable. I suspect it has something to do with huffing paint fumes all day, every day. If I were you, I'd look...

Does Understanding Eschatology Prove You Are Saved?

I would say that placing an emphasis on eschatology probably proves that the person is immature.

    Christadelphians, the Devil and Satan

I've made the same argument myself, but... that doesn't necessarily logically follow. An example illustrates it... In a recent post, I quoted from the movie Men in Black. Does that mean I am endorsing that movie as literal and factual? Are the aliens among us? No. By the same logic...

    Porphyry wants to know

What I'm saying there is that I think a lot of people who are expecting eternal life, may not be getting it. As for evangelical Christians... is there another group of Christians, or even some other religion, that acts better? All people are flawed, but especially in groups.

Origin stories which don’t exist for people, places and things mentioned in the Bible

There are problems with the genealogy of the ante-diluvian patriarchs, and I don't mean the obvious objection of "but people don't live that long!" I mean there are textual problems. The Greek manuscripts we have of Genesis give different ages at which the patriarchs had sons, than the Hebrew...

    Unlocking Ezekiel 28

This seems to be the case for ALL the Canaanites. Archaeology shows that the Canaanites originally worshiped EL as their chief god (though they were never quite monotheists). At some point, Baal supplanted God as their most popular deity. Have you ever read on Ugarit? It's not in the Bible...

    Unlocking Ezekiel 28

The idea of a human leader apostatizing is in there. For me the nomenclature "fallen angel" fits to describe that. We basically agree on the content of the chapter. We have some disagreement on semantics

    Porphyry wants to know

Annihilation IS mercy. A reward on top of that is another level

    Porphyry wants to know

    They're probably getting annihilated, too

    Porphyry wants to know

    She just gets annihilated.

    Biblical Archaeology

Highly doubtful. If the inscription is dated to 1800BC, it can't be about the Biblical Moses. He hadn't been born yet.

Origin stories which don’t exist for people, places and things mentioned in the Bible

There's a fun theory on that one. The Genesis genealogies in the LXX are different than the ones in today's standard Bibles. There's a problem there - when you "do the math" it ends up that Methusaleh lived through the flood based on those old manuscripts. The theory is - what if that's...

Origin stories which don’t exist for people, places and things mentioned in the Bible

That exists but it isn't in the Bible. There's a poem from 14th century BC Ugarit titled "Rephaim" that gives the origin. A translation (and explanation) can be read in "Stories from Ancient Canaan," by Coogan and Smith.

    Unlocking Ezekiel 28

Ezekiel tells us that Eden is in Lebanon (already cited).
