    The Doctrine of OSAS

ATP, You've got to start posting passages that actually say what you're claiming.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Nothing here say one is justified once. What reason would there be for Jesus to die for someone's future sins?

    The Doctrine of OSAS

You didn't address the entire passage, but like I said, not amount of evidence will do. they. The Greek text NA28 says they rejected their first faith. That is apostasy. Paul goes on to say that they received condemnation and that some were following Satan. Are you seriously going to claim that...

Oz, I'm with you on this one.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Is this speculation? You said we don't wash ourselves and posted 1 Cor. 6:11. However, in that passage Paul used the middle form of washed indicating that they did the washing to themselves. So that passage says the opposite of what you claim. According to Peter it is past sins, not future...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Jesus did say He had only come to the Jews. However, what dispensationalists seem to overlook is that He charged the disciples to go to the Gentiles and make disciples, teaching and baptizing them.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Richard, The Abrahamic covenant is the Christian's hope. It is of utmost importance to the Christian. Unless you're referring to Mosaic covenant instead. Also, what payment for sins? The Scriptures say that God will forgive sins, not take payment for them.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Nice, but as I said, there's not a single passage that say salvation can't be lost. What point is there for me to attempt to refute an inference? 11 But refuse the younger widows; for when they have begun to grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry, 12 having condemnation because they...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

How do you know my heart? You're espousing a doctrine that doesn't have a single verse of Scripture. In addition you're using irrational arguments laced with logical fallacies and you're saying my heart is closed? Hmm....

    The Doctrine of OSAS

More inferences. How do you know they are correct inferences? You've taken three passages of Scripture out of context. None of these are talking about whether or not salvation can be lost. Let me ask a question, If you want to know to know how to use a computer program do you go get the repair...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Not at all. I've posted passages and early church quotes showing that salvation can be lost and that this was the original teaching in the church. However, it wouldn't matter how much evidence I posted you guys would simply reject it. You're holding to your irrational arguments not matter what...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Ah, so it's believers that the seed remains in, not those who stop believing.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I read that post. It says nothing about whether or not salvation can be lost. Inferences are not facts.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

    The Doctrine of OSAS

    Inferences aren't facts.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Not what, who. Who does the seed remain in.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Hi ATP, None of these say salvation can't be lost. That idea comes from inference. Who does the seed remain in?

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Sure there are. However, my point stands. There isn't a single passage of Scripture that says what OSAS supporters claim. That doesn't even take into account that the doctrine has it's roots in Gnositcism.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

It's amazing that this discussion is still going on. There isn't a single passage of Scripture that teaches that one can't lose salvation. Those who argue for it must draw inferences.

I agree. I don't think I went to my high school dances.
