Of course! I was just speaking colloquially.

Anything that happened in the past could happen again. It's not God's idea, but He gave us free will and as Paul said, "...there is no good thing in the flesh..." It'll all get resolved in the end though.

Are you standing behind the word of God that you don't really care about? You seem to have no concern about whether the word in 1 Timothy is "Theos" or "Os." I know you don't because it would take some time before you could draw a conclusion. I'd venture to say you've put no time into it...

    One and Triune God.

Wow! I'm luckier than I thought. You have to wonder about any institution that would do something like that. Doesn't seem the the prime source for truth to say the least.

Why do you condemn me for pointing out what is well known by virtually anyone that looks into the matter? Do you not care to look into it for yourself? If not, that shows a distinct lack of respect for God's word and I have to wonder by what authority you pronounce your judgments.

Those are good translations. I had someone one tell me yesterday that John 17 is proof of the trinity. To me, the whole chapter is a beautiful prayer from a son to his Father, which anywhere by trinityville would be one person talking to another person. Sounds like two people to me. In...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Well, maybe that's a figure of speech and not meant to be taken literally. I think it is, because every morning when my wife and I get out of bed and there are two distinct lumps in the mattress. :)

Precisely. Luckily for us Jesus didn't make the same mistake as Adam! Otherwise we'd still be waiting for redemption.

This is like a son not able to be his own father. In this case it is that Christ's body can't also be his bride. Do you know of any other husband that is his own bride? I don't. Seems like they are two different people, just like a father and son. We need to dig a little deeper to get to the...

Whatever you think Philippians 2:6 says, just know that verse 5 says you should think the same way. Me? I wouldn't want to think I'm actually God, but that's just me. Everybody makes their own choices.

All of the earlier Greek texts do not say, ...God was manifested..." They say, "...which was manifested..." "God" in Greek is θεός, whereas "which" is ός. As you can see, they are kind of close to each other. It was not until around the 8th century that the texts said θεός. Prior to that they...

Yes, the context of this section is all about being a servant to our brothers and sisters. Even though we, as Christians, are the apex of God's work, we are not to use that to go around bragging how good we are. Instead we are to be humble and use the power God gave us for service to others...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Yes, but unfortunately there seem to be many Christians who are comfortable with tradition and are not willing to do the work of rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). I'm always surprised at the apparent lack of respect for God's word by too many Christians.

I love that section in Philippians, especially 2:5 where it says we are to have the same mind as Christ. So are we to think we're also God? I don't think so. It must be talking about something else. I'd tell you if you want. But if you want to keep believing as you do, I won't bother.

Why do you keep saying it's my mystery? Have you taken the time to read the verses I quoted? How do they not say Paul was given information that had not been known until God gave it to Paul. Please, be specific, use the scriptures to state your position. Don't let yourself get thrown off kilter...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Whoa there guy! Relax. Take a deep breath. I didn't write Romans, Ephesians, or Colossians. Rom 16:25, Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began...

    One and Triune God.

If that's the case, Jesus or the Holy Spirit apparently didn't get the word. Both pronouns in verse 27 are singular. Are you aware that there are many spiritual beings in heaven? Angels, principalities, powers, etc. There are several records that say God conferred with those spiritual beings to...

My mystery? The only mystery I mentioned is the one that is in the verses I quoted. Rom 16:25, Now to him that is able to stablish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal...
