@Pearl Good point there. Of course it can go too far; there was a news report from someplace in the US where a lady was banned from a public swimming pool because someone disapproved of exactly the feature which you just mentioned, even though she was in a swimsuit.

More generally, I guess is the question of how far does one go to prevent youngsters from seeing pretty well normal scenes at a beach, a pool-side, etc. But I do take the basic point of the thread, indeed, and of your comments also.

PS: I guess part of the context also of "inappropriate" appearance would also beg the question: inappropriate for what? like, for example, the beach? Strictly Come Dancing? Sometimes the issues are indeed clear-cut; sometimes less so.

I think part of Pearl's point was also the unnecessarily visible physique of some of those who are depicted; it wasn't only about violence.

@SERVANTedu I guess that placement gives the wearer a lot of choice as regards tattoo visibility. Arms for example bring the choice of long or short sleeves, depending on how visible. Like, it would also depend on whether any existing arm tattoos would give space for a further faith based one...
