A Moral Framework for Same Sex Unions?

So what if you lie a hundred times a day and later confess, or what if you forget to confess? What if you forgot all the lies you told?

The NT insists you must obey Jesus to gain eternal life!

Willimac, I think you are speaking of Heb 10:26, not 22.... But that's a small matter. What is a bigger matter is that many folks quote verse 26 without understanding or regarding verse 25. When the Bible says "for if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of truth.." they...

Making the case for organized religion

Yea well, Rocky.... Attach a fancy name to it, but what I'm saying is that it IS happening in my Church! We ARE studying the principles and interpretation of the Bible. I'm not going to Liberty University or ORU, but I am in class and I am learning hermueanotics or whatever you want to call...

Making the case for organized religion

Vale, That simply is not true 100% of the time. The Church I attend does a lot of trememdous teaching every week and even the most learned Bible student would be hard pressed to say they didn't learn something new at my Church. However, I do get your point and agree with it. Even my Pastor...

Is anyone in a church that is led by Jesus Christ?

I agree with your thoughts Rach. God said he sees the end from the beginning, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, There is nothing new under the Sun, my Word shall forever stand, it's written for our admonision (whom upon the ends of the world are come), etc.... The Bible...

A Moral Framework for Same Sex Unions?

Hello Wormwood, I appreciate your reply. I've said all I care to on the topic of repentance. As for Biblical support on whether anyone who sins in the flesh (including practicing homosexuals) can be saved, I refer to the many scriptures on grace doing such. I'll give just one: Romans 5:20...

Making the case for organized religion

It amazes me the length people will go to to get out of having to obey a verse, especially when it comes to going to Church.

A Moral Framework for Same Sex Unions?

I agree with what you said Wormwood. I highlighted two statements you made that I'd like to talk about. The first (difference between struggling with and refusing to recognize sin) is a very good point. I am in no way supporting homosexual behavior, but rather supporting grace as effecient in...

Making the case for organized religion

Well sure it is.... Cause they don't know anything. It's pretty easy to tell someone everything YOU like about God and everything YOU think they should know about God. Even better, you can tell them everything THEY want to hear. Pretty good conversation and YOU get to be the smart one! But...

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

I don't see how that answers the question.... Either you didn't answer it or I misunderstood. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'll be a little more direct: Does grace cover all our sins of the flesh?

Making the case for organized religion

One of their leaders said, "We know in part, we prophesy in part. When that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away with." Another one of their leaders told us to be established in the present truth. They're my leaders too, of course. See, the first quote is...

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

Evangelist7, I just want to know what you believe "grace" is and what it does for those who have faith? I do have other questions for ya, but I'll let you answer that one for now if so desire.

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

Well.... Um.... One of those two groups is covered by grace through faith, and the other isn't. One group is under the law, and the other isn't... One group has their sins COVERED and the other doesn't.

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

My apologies. I'll try to exercise better judgement next time.

A Moral Framework for Same Sex Unions?

My answer is yes. Homosexuality is a sin, but it's covered by grace. It's just a hot issue amongst Christians. Did not James say that if you are guilty of one sin you are guilty of all (in a roundabout way)? So if you wear polyester, aren't you guilty of breaking the Law? I'm generalizing...

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

Vale, it might be against forum rules.... But the cure your are prescribing (to become Catholic) is a death sentance. Christ's Church has been around for 2000 years, but the Catholic Church hasn't. I've stood with you about organisation in the Church, But the Catholics ain't got it right.
