Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

For those "in Christ", there is "no condemnation", but even if someone slips and does not remain in Christ, they're "condemned", so how are those who are not even in Christ at all not also "condemned"?

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

If "Christ will avail you nothing" (Gal 5:2), and Christ is how God saves, doesn't that mean Christ cannot save them?

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I believe men still abide under God's wrath, that has been on men since Adam's sin, because people are still dead in sins apart from faith, and if men fall away from faith, they are under God's severity. So it is clear that faith is the way to be in God's kindness, and unbelief is the way to...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

God's indignation with Israel for Israel's sins falls on Israel, but that does not mean He is not wrathful with other men for their sins.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

The wrath has been upon men since Adam--ie, the sentence of spiritual death, and the manifold curses (some stipulated in the Law--the Law was revealed to Israel, but it is at work in the world).

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Yes, and if you back up a little in Romans 6, you'll see the "gift of eternal life IN CHRIST JESUS" is because "IN CHRIST JESUS" we have the gift of "slavery to righteousness"--the fact that righteousness is a gift is what turns eternal life into a gift. However, this is only "IN CHRIST JESUS"...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

There is a coming wrath/severity, but there is a wrath/severity that men are already under Psalm 90 9For all our days pass away under your wrath; we bring our years to an end like a sigh. John 3 36The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not [m]obey the Son will...

Well, they are in the Word, but they are misinterpreting the Word because of their teachers--that is why I am raising those topics they are missing.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

The "severity" is the "curse" and spiritual "death" that results from unrighteousness--by not "being found in Him not having a righteousness of my own from the Law but having a God's righteousness from faith in Christ" (Php 3:9).

Yes, it is being "missed" by those who disagree with my position.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Yes, and Israel had a dynamic that people could be "cut off from among their people" for certain sins that is still at play today--here, we see that people are "grafted in" by "faith", and "cut off" for "unbelief", so if Paul is "disqualified" from the "race" of "faith", then he is in...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

If you don't do works of faith, if you do what you doubt, you are "condemned", not justified (Ro 14:5,23), because "God's righteousness" is only "revealed from faith to faith" (Ro 1:5,16,17). This is why James says Abraham was "justified by works [of faith]".

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Yes, we must be born again. So? God has already set the precedent that He has disinherited His children before (Dt 32:5; Hos 1). Christ says we must abide. We've discussed this before. It isn't just believing one time. It's maintaining belief, and it's maintaining loving others--that is how...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Paul often refers to faith as a race. If Paul is "disqualified" from the "race" of faith, it means he's in "unbelief", and he's "cut off" (Ro 11:17-23)!

Again, according to you, then, we would have to read the immorality and idolatry mentioned in 1 Co 10 as having no effect upon salvation, but we read in 1 Co 6 that the immoral and idolatrous have no inheritance in God's Kingdom, so, no, that isn't a sound exegesis. Also, the "wreath' Paul...

No, God doesn't contradict Himself, they're both true. He has given us the gift of eternal life, so we have it, and we retain it by remaining in Christ by obeying Christ's commands (believe on the Name of God's Son and love one another).

I already agreed with you on your passage, so there's no need to tell you why I think you're wrong, but I said I ALSO agree with other passages that say we will be repaid eternal life, or harvest eternal life, if we do good deeds, and I quoted the passages (Ro 2:6-16; Gal 6:6-10).

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Incorrect, I literally just AGREED with you on the passage you cited, that we HAVE eternal life, but added that I ALSO believe other passages on the topic--that we are told we will be repaid with eternal life, that we will harvest eternal life, if we do good. Why would I dissect the passage you...
