@Abigail This is a great verse, showing how human thinking and Divine power in the believer's life are completely different.... (The first 10 verse of Ephesians 2 also shows this contrast....)

@Rudometkin The writer to the Hebrews in 12.2 exhorts his readers to keep 'looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, Who for the joy that was before Him endured the cross, despising the shame' and is now seated in glory.

Back @Paul Christensen Well, it's what so many young ppl (especially young women) do now, it seems, when they turn 18 or thereabouts: get their first tattoo (often followed by more). All the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have spoken have seemingly gotten them done for...

@Paul Christensen Reminds me of what C H Spurgeon said when asked how he reconciled God's sovereignty with human responsibility. He replied that he would not like to try to reconcile two friends.... (Typical Spurgeon... :) )

@Paul Christensen Sabbath-keeping was part of the law system. But Hebrews 7.12 tells us that the law was changed. Hebrews 7.19 tells us that what we now have is better than the law.

Hi @Rudometkin It's interesting that in Ephesians 2 Paul says 'not of works' in verse 9, and immediately says, For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works...', in verse 10. Works follow faith.

Philippians 2.6 indeed declares that the Lord Jesus is God. He is equal with God. Hebrews 1.8 says: 'Unto the Son, He saith: Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever'. John 1.14 says the Lord Jesus' glory is 'as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth'.

He - the Lord Jesus - is equal with God; He is God; He is nothing less than God. In the passages cited, Father, Son and Holy Spirit are repeatedly present: all three Person are God Himself; one God in three Persons.
