    Eternal Security

@Taken Ephesians 2 is a tremendous chapter; so is Romans 8, with much assurance for the believer.

@Cachalot We were thinking about this verse in our study yesterday...

@Lambano :) (I gave up coffee years ago...)

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

He lived in a different era and it would be legalism to impose judgmental assessment retrospectively on a great man of God from the 19th century.

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

I agree about the health issue we now know of; but the great preacher Spurgeon smoked; he reckoned it helped his gout condition.

are the effects of party drugs permanent?

@Rita Just goes to show that the habit of prayer and Bible study for a young person is such a blessing acquire, rather than the recreational use of substances, even if they are legalized; I am sure that the Christian relatives of those involved in such substances pray fervently.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Lambano Perhaps good only for Mr. Koi Wife. Godly women with Bible verse tattoos would likely have them done on their wrists, etc.

    Encouraging verses

@Marvelloustime To think that the Lord Jesus accepted the faith of the thief on the cross, who said: "Lord, remember me..."

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Desire Of All Nations You are right that a tattoo is not necessary to witness. (Although given its proven effectiveness as a conversation-starter, a lot of believers do get Bible verses, etc., inked. This is also why more generally so many nurses get tattoos; they use them as an ice breaker...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Lambano Well, some tattoo placements are a bit dodgy. (This seemed to be Taken's concern also, above.) Some placements are of course very modest; my wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist are; it was her favorite Bible verse and mine also, and I'm...

Was Jesus a spirit being before coming to earth as a human?

@David in NJ Clearly this is in principle what the Lord Jesus taught in John 6.

Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

@Lambano Great passage there. I do think the fact that the Bible is now complete is very significant as regards the sign gifts in the Apostolic period. Like you said before also, the whole idea of being 'drunk' in this context is a misnomer, IMHO.

With careful reading you can understand the Bible - Luke 10:18

I referred to born again believers being indwelt by the Holy Spirit since Pentecost. This is correct and Biblical. Seeing as they were not born again physically, they were born again by the Holy Spirit.

    What Is Your Super Power?

@Mayflower So sorry; may he be well soon; and may the children and yourself be preserved; praying. May the whole experience prove to have means to bring you all closer to the Lord.

    My dreams keep repeating...

It's good really to concentrate on what the Lord actually reveals in His Word, IMHO. (Yes, dreams can be moving and even troubling sometimes.)

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@David in NJ These is such a scope for conversation-starting, faith based tattoo designs, right? In some ways, I wish more Christians worked in tattoo parlors, don't you?

Preterist Claims In 66-70AD Fulfillment Falls, As The Book Of Revelation Was Written In 96AD

@David in NJ All born again believers since Pentecost are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, indeed, as per Romans 8.9.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

PS: @Lambano In some ways, I wish more Christians worked in tattoo parlors (don't you?) , given the sheer scope for faith based designs as conversation-starters in witness.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@MatthewG Very interesting comments; thank-you. Yes, the concept behind a tattoo is significant. Sometimes if wording rather than symbols is chosen, the style of the wording can add to the aesthetic value of the tattoo, although I guess from a witness point of view the aesthetics are really a...
