Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@MatthewG Hoping it goes well for you in your new work. With tattoos especially, the saying is true: "You get what you pay for", more or less, at least. The lowest quotes are not necessarily the best, right? This is why young men and women at around 18 can benefit - from this perspective, at...

Revelation, Isaac Newton, and the Churches

I do believe the church is looking for the coming of the Lord Jesus, 'till He come' (1 Corinthians 11.26).

Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

@Lambano I agree with the premise of your question; true worship - according to John 4 - is 'in spirit and in truth'.

    Philippians 3:1-21

@MatthewG I love Philippians! That 'Finally' at 3.1 still has a lot of comments from Paul after it... :)

    Righteousness of Jesus Christ

@MatthewG Another, similar passage is 1 Corinthians 1.30-31: "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."

With careful reading you can understand the Bible - Luke 10:18

@Mantis Romans 8.9 says, 'if any man have not the Spirit if Christ, he is none of His'. From Pentecost onward, all born again believers are indeed indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Taken Oh I agree modest placements are good. They are widely regarded as an effective witness tool, any; all the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have spoken have seemingly had them done for evangelistic reasons; my wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16...

A NEW TAKE ON THE AOD

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

@Taken I guess that Hollywood and the media would have had nothing to do with the women who smoked after church, before the Civil War. In those days it would have been pipes in any case rather than cigarettes. I guess those who would 'police' what's supposedly 'ladylike' or not would find it...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Taken I guess that some ppl would try to make out that no tattoos are supposedly 'unladylike', but this would be a rather subjective determination. Seeing also that so many Godly women get faith based inkings.

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

@Taken There's some truth to what you say; I guess I would add that some of what you mention may be more benign than others. Definitions of what's 'ladylike' have changed considerably over the years, right? some of it can be a bit irrational.

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

@McFearless Do you know whether significant numbers of Christians in Denmark smoke cannabis?
  15. F

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

@Taken Apparently before the American Civil War it was widespread in some areas for women to smoke after church services. (Then came the so called Progressive Era, when all sorts of 'causes' came in vogue; one was that it was supposedly unladylike to smoke.)

A NEW TAKE ON THE AOD

@Taken Christian doctrine in Scripture is indeed very searching.

A NEW TAKE ON THE AOD

@Taken Hebrews 13 seems to indicate very clearly that the world now is the scene of the Lord Jesus' rejection.

    HERESY?

@JohnPaul About the Lord Jesus, John 1 says: "The same was in the beginning with God".
