What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

Therefore, everyone believes not all the times the word ‘word’ is used in Scripture, it refers to Jesus. I include John 1:1 to that list.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

And most of all, defy the explicit word of God. The latest rant I’ve seen several times in the last couple of days is the denial of mutual exclusivity and proof by contradiction; they deny Jesus saying his God is the only true God does not mean Jesus is not God.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

I guess I struck a nerve there. Since I agreed with Rich, it can’t be all MY word about the topic. :p

Really? Genesis 37:4 New Living Translation 4 But his brothers hated Joseph because their father loved him more than the rest of them. They couldn’t say a kind word to him.

    A Form of godliness

Neither. A trinitarian scholar is a trinitarian with enough academic training to realize some of the verses layman rely on to support the dogma are not valid for one reason or another. They still believe in the trinity.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

It’s sad and telling that so many continue to rely on a bad translation AFTER it has been pointed out to them.

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

Do you believe every use of the word "word" in Scripture refers to Jesus?

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

    Nope. Still him/his.

What is silly is you pretending WHAT’s are WHO’s. If FDR’s words come out of my mouth, it does not make me FDR.

    One God has spoken

An example I use often is what day Adam was made compared to what day Eve was made. I think this rather mundane question mirrors the more provocative question of who God is and who God is not. Most people recognize the day of Adam’s creation is explicit in Scripture. Therefore, it is not too...

Well, I understand figurative speech. Speech flows from a speaker.

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

No. First there was God, who created his words.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Not really. That’s NOT the lesson of Original Sin. I suppose one can differentiate lived experience knowledge, from theoretical-theological doctrines handed down through generations. I know gravity because I have lived experience, even if I’m unfamiliar and do not know the text book equations...

    One God has spoken

Appeal to Victimhood. This seems to be the new claim to righteousness. I didn’t say to be quiet because of sexism but foolish talk. The point hinges on IS REALLY THE CASE (objective reality), not point of view. An authoritative reference either says X or it doesn’t.

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

I’m sure the best translation reads the word was a god, which is consistent with Jesus recognizing many lowercase-gods in John 10:34-35. John 10:34-35 Names of God Bible 34 Yeshua said to them, “Don’t your Scriptures say, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 The Scriptures cannot be discredited. So...

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

You are making a substitution to justify your dogma. Scripture does not say God became incarnate. It just doesn't. I know you want it to so badly but alas, it only says the word became flesh. Why do you deny this fulfills Deuteronomy 18:15-18, that Phillip was so excited to tell Nathanial about...

Scripture that has become a personal word.

??? Just the other day in Devotional reading in Corinthians, it talked about the god of this world. Just because certain verses don't hit you like a ton of bricks does not mean they are not impactful for others. Praise God.

It is always true that 3 cannot be 1.

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

Right, the word, not God, became flesh. See the difference?
